My mom has advanced angiosarcoma (cancer of the blood vessels) in her chest, she has been through so much and has been fighting this particular cancer for 7 years now, and cancer in general for 11 years now.

The doctors have tried every other treatment option so now they are going to try & go in and remove the cancer today. They aren't sure how severe it is until they get in there. It's going to be a complicated surgery, they are saying 8 or so hours to complete it all.

They have to deflate her lungs, remove her organs, possibly remove some of her ribs and then once they get the cancer cleaned out they will replace everything, construct artificial ribs (I don't know the medical terms for all of this) and then a plastic surgeon will have to take tissue from her thighs, back, & stomach to do a skin graft on her chest.

We're all very scared and would appreciate any prayers and pixie dust you can send her way.

TIA

Good thoughts & best wishes that everything goes well & that your Mom beats it & is better soon.:grouphug:

I wish your mother and your family the very best 'n hope for a speedy recovery. :grouphug:
