we made it back to CHOP today for walker training. Johnathon did well, however he was very car sick and threw up as soon as we got there. Going to try to relax for a few days. My bday is thursday and we have some 4th plans so we should be able to try to forget about this for a few days.

I'm sending prayers your way that all continues to go smoothly. My son was diagnosed with cancer (leukemia) eleven years ago. Today he is a wonderful, compassionate and healthy 16 year old. We were sent to a Children's Hospital here in California and had the best treatment. Your son will be okay - children are SO resilient! These terrible things our children go through will only serve to make them stronger, kinder people. My son is evidence of that!
You take care, and know that I am thinking of you and praying for you all.

We are going to CHOP tomorrow. Well we are actualy driving to Phily tomorrow night and staying a few blocks from CHOP. not sure of OR time yet, I have to call tomorrow for that. We have had a nice weekend but today the tension is definatly building. Johnathon keeps welling up while laying by his baby sister saying that he will never see her again. I am trying to keep explinations simple for him but yet keep his imagination from running away with him. We have lots of new dvd's and books. Managed to figure out facetime on iphone so we can see the baby, and my brother while we are at the hospital. Busy packing for the baby to go to my mom's and for us for phily. Besides my fears for Johnathon I am heartbroken about leaving my little baby for such a long time, she just turned 3 months on the 5th. I hope to have some good news tues, I will try to post here as soon as I can. Thanks everyone, the dis is the best.

Good luck, keep us updated. Not sure if this is pertinent or not, but the Children's Hospitals have pediatric and family counselors as well. It sounds like your son may have some concerns, and these counselors are fantastic.

Thinking of you, your family, and especially your son and wishing you nothing but the best. I had a bone bioposy last fall and it gave us the answers we needed so that I could a successful treatment plan. I hope that this procedure will give the doctors all the answers they need to get your son up and about as soon as possible. The boards are a wonderful place to get the support you need to get through anything. I was lucky to have their support along with an incredible family that got me through. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Good Luck.

I will be saying a prayer your family. It is so tough when your child is ill, hurting, etc. My dd3 spent a lot of time in the hospital for her first two years and had surgery last summer, just for adnoids and tonsils and I was so worried about it. She bounced back so fast. Im sure your little guy will recoop much faster than you think. Try not to worry about the baby, grandma will take good care of her Im sure.

It is good you got an early time slot. It is so hard for the kids to not eat and drink. Get it over with ASAP.

Praying for you this morning, you are probably either on your way or possibly already at the hospital at this point. I can still remember the looks on the faces of other families in the surgical admission area that morning when our son went through his first surgery. I wish you luck, a short stay, and good news at the end of this. I sincerely hope that you are able to move on from this soon. Maybe by this time next year your worst challenge will be deciding which resort to stay at on vacation.

Johnathon went into the OR about 15 min ago. He was sleepy so not afraid. Happy to report I have met another Disser here who is with him, small world right!
