Johnathon went into the OR about 15 min ago. He was sleepy so not afraid. Happy to report I have met another Disser here who is with him, small world right!

Hi all! After a rough day and night with vomiting and pain we managed to get home to nj today!! The biopsy was negative for cancer but will still don't know for sure what type of tumor it was. They have narrowed it down to 2 very rare types but it will take further examination of the pathology to know for sure, we are just focused on keeping him as pain free and safe as possible. He is asleep now and DH is on the floor od his room to be sure he does not get up. CHOP was fabulous, I can't say enogh about it, I was impressed, and I work in a hospital so I am a tough customer. We also had special pixie dust from anither Disser who took part in Johnathons care and went out of her way to PM me and take great care of us all. I don't know if she wants to stay anonymous but she knows who she is, and I cant say thanks enough friend. I did not feel so alone at a strange place. The dis is a wonderful community! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me during this journey. If anyone ever needs any advice or help from me please just ask!! I plan on keeping Johnathon from falling off his walker and planning our daughters baptism. I plan to donated to GKTW and also ask guests at the christining to do the same. I have only scratched the surface of what it is like to have a sick child and I want to do all I can to support what I have always know was a great place, I just feel it in a different way now.

I'm so relieved to hear that you're home and the tumor wasn't cancer. Sending more prayers and pixie dust for your little boy to recuperate quickly, for the condition to be very treatable, and for you and your husband to be strong and comforted and supported while you help your son go through this.

Huge kudos to the DISer who took such wonderful care of him - whether she wants to be known publicly or not, we can all send her thanks for that extra pixie dust!

Hi everyone. I want to report that Johanthon is doing weel ,despite a stomach bug that hit him friday. He is trying to wrok with his restrictions and for a 4 year old he is doing great. We head back to CHOP for our first post op visit tomorrow. The worst part is the drive since he keeps getting car sick. I am always a ball of nerves the night before, getting him all packed and getting the baby all set is a full time job. I have to say thank you all again, it means alot. I am bummed we cant text donaions to GKTW anyomre, i was planning on having everyone donated at our daughters baptism Aug 7. Anyone have a good idea how to get some extra $$$ from guests?

I think that this is a very sweet idea. I'd suggest a decorated canister or jar. You could also leave out fancy envelopes that are pre-addressed.

So glad to hear that he is doing so well. Have you tried Sea Bands for his motion sickness? You can get them at any CVS and he just wears them on his wrists. Worth a try if he is willing to keep them on. Good luck at his follow up!

We made it to Phily with no vomiting which is always a plus. Xrays show the graft is healing well, and pathology shows the less aggressive tumor type! They gave him a walking cast and he can go in a pool next week. No sports jumping etc till the fall but the worst is over! We hit horrible traffic yesterday on the way home but the bands, or the fact that we were never moving, kept him from getting sick. it was 107 outside and the car tried to overheat, but grandpa navigated us safely home. i have to one more time thank everyone who has been such a great source of strength, and support here. When I found the Dis when Johnathon was an infant I thought I had just found a cool vacatoin site, it has become so much more to me over the years, more pointed over the past month. He wants to go to the world this year lol, even offered his piggy bank to go! I cant wait to come back soon with planning questions soon! I Love the Dis and all our frineds here!
