Prayers and PD for DS please! UPDATE 4/19, page 3.

I really hate to have to post something like this, but I see how powerful prayers are when DIS people do it! DS had his physical at the pediatrician's office yesterday. His blood sugar was 214 indicating diabetes. This morning we're off to a specialist for further testing and training. This isn't a complete shock since diabetes runs in my family. I've got it, my oldest sister had it, my mom had it, and her dad. But I was really hoping and praying that it would skip Richard! Hoping maybe he got my husband's genes. He just turned 10 this past Saturday, and it just seems so unfair for someone that young. I was 13 when they found it. So if you could remember him in your prayers and maybe add some of that magic PD, it would help. Thanks!!

{{HUGS}} Pin Wizard. I can understand your concern. My mom had juvenile diabetes and it skipped me. I am praying that it skips both of my dd's. I will say a prayer that your son does not have it. Please let us know what you find out.

Prayers and PD going out to Richard right now. I hope that everything goes well for him. My DS is turning 10 this Saturday - his grandfather on my husband's side has diabetes, so I am now thinking I should get him tested as well. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sure he will deal with it just fine. Hopefully he will be a type 2 and weight loss and diet will be able to control it. If not insulin really isnt that bad. Sometimes it is harder on Mom than on the kid. Praying for you both.
