Prayer Requests on the DIS

I am sincere when I say that I actually pray for people who ask for prayers on this board (and even some who don't ask but I think they need prayers myself).

My question is: If you do also, do you ever feel silly saying, "Dear God, please be with Princess Aurora, Stepharoonie & Phorsenuf..."

doesnt feel strange at all.. i kinda figure he reads the dis anyway seriously,, He knows who we are talking about and even ifs its an internet id,, He will recognize and register the requests and as a side note to all the DIS pray'ers Thank You all for being true enough to admit You pray and to actually do it.

I usually don't say their names, but when I pray I just say to God that He knows them best and please take their Mom, Dad, child (or whoever) into your hands and take care of them. Thats all. He knows who they are when I read the request. Thats all I need to know.

I pray for those I say I'll pray for also.

I know a lot of DIS'ers by their "real" name. If I know their "real" name, I pray for them with that name. If I don't know their "real" name, I don't feel silly praying for them with their username.

I dont feel silly either, and I also say watch over all 65,000 of my freinds on the dis. I also figure he reads it and knows who I'm talkin about.........Bobby

No, I don't feel silly, I usually say God Bless so and so from the DIS, you know who they are even though I don't.

I try to find out the true name of every DISer... sometimes it's on their post or sig, or I can check a Dan Murphy post who ALWAYS knows!

Believe me, my God knows who they are...

Nope, don't feel silly in the least. Only time I feel silly/bad is when I fall asleep at night and have forgotten those who need prayers so badly. Try to make up for it. No, prayer never makes me feel silly.

I say quick little prayers all the time, so it doesn't feel silly to me....

If I say I'll pray, I bow my head and pray right there and then, and I use whatever name I know for that person.

Interesting..... I always figured that if a person doesn't post with their real name or at least sign off with their real name, they don't really want it known.... so I don't pursue the matter. I just have a hard time remember the "names" that you cannot pronounce easily like "phorsenuf"!..................Pamela
