Prayer request please. Update pg 3 keep praying please!

You all will be in our prayers Binny! I know how much he dislikes his job! Believe me, we've really stepped out. It's been a long year! Let me know if he finds something new. :goodvibes

Binny....things do have a way of working out.

I had a job for 16 years where I felt trapped. I didn't mind the job responsiblities but I had a boss who didn't believe in raises, who hired family members who got paid more but did little work and who was generally unpleasant to work for. I did interview for other jobs over the years but I'm not one to shine in interviews so I never got those jobs. One potential employer told me that I had been too long at my job so he was hesistant to hire me.

Then....one of the former employees called me and said her current boss was looking and that I should call him. I knew this guy because I had dealings with him over the years while on the job and I knew he thought well of me. So I called him and got the job and a significant raise! Been on the new job for just about 6 months and I am so thankful.

Old boss called me the other day (I did manage to leave on amicable terms) because he was looking for some information he knew I had and he couldn't find himself. He made a crack about something he had done which "saved my a**" meaning me. I really wanted to call him an a**hole right then (been dying to all these years) but I still have to deal with him from time to time on the new job.

So Binny, I will say a prayer for your husband. Sometimes an opportunity takes its time in coming but when it does...its the right one.

D, are you guys ok?

Thank so much everyone for the prayers and words of encouragement.

He has a huge interview this week so if you would say an extra prayer for that we would really appreciate that as well. :)

Binny, I don't have any advice that would help. But I just said a prayer for you two. :grouphug:

binny - how are things today? My hubby and I have been there with this same kind of stress, step out in faith thing. My hubby ended up going out on his own and starting his own business. (he's an architect) It's been wonderful! I'm so glad he was able to take that leap. I hope the interview this week goes SUPER well!!! Maybe you and the hubby could get some extra prayer at church tomorrow??? It might help give you a bit of peace.

Thanks Shelby, he seems to be better today someone sent me this quote today
"Out of rejection, comes direction"
I thought that was really cool.

We can really feel the prayers for strength! Normally something like this would send us reeling but I can feel the cover, the protection. Does that make sense? I have this huge sense of anticipation. Something good is on its way :)

We have this on our prayer chain at church and know that people are praying. Church always helps though. It makes us feel part of something. DH is there now actually we have a kids basketball/cheerleading league at our church and he is doing the lights for the games. I love that he is involved there. He seems to be much happier today and I think that has something to do with it.

Another friend sent me this the other day as well. It just relaly hit home and was so relevant to what we are going through.

Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods.
They were discussing
their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a
treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems.
I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the
beauty."

Then the second tree said, "Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take
kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world.
Everyone will! feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull."

Finally the third tree said, "I want to grow to be the tallest and
straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the Hill and
look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God and How close to
them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people
will always remember me." After a few years of praying that their dreams
would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees.

When one came to the first tree he said, "This looks like a strong tree,
I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter," and he began
cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter
would make him into a treasure chest.

At the second tree the woodsman said, "This looks like a strong tree, I
should be able to sell it to the shipyard." The second tree was happy
because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.

When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened
because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true.
One of the woodsmen said, "I don't need anything special from my tree,
I'll take this one," and he cut it down.

When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed
box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This
was not at all what he had prayed for.

The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of
being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end.

The third tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark. The
years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams.

Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they
placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first
tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this
manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event
and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second
tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the
water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough
to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and He stood and said
"Peace" and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had
carried the King of Kings in its boat.

Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the
streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came
to a stop; the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at
the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was
strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as
was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your
way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in
Him, He will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted,
just not in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's
plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His
ways are always best.

Please keep this moving... pass it on, so He may inspire more people on
the way. May your day be blessed. And until we meet again, may God cradle
you in the palm of His hand.

Bin, I will most definitely keep you all in my prayers. I had similar reasons for why I quit my job a year and a half ago. It was the hardest but best decision for us all. I hope that something good comes his way soon

UPDATE tomorrow ( Tuesday) is a huge day for him .

I dont want to go into detail but if you all could keep him in your prayers I would REALLY appreciate it!

:grouphug:

I feel your pain sweetie and we have been there several times before DH retired. I would tell your DH what I used to tell mine, 'nothing is more important than our health and sanity.' Besides, 'God doesn't close one door without opening another.' Sending prayers that new opportunities open up for him and he takes that leap of faith! ((hugs))

Binny, more prayers have gone up for you and your DH! God is definately with you and guiding your path. He will provide everything you need. Be strong and continue to have Faith.

Keep us updated!
