Prayer and pixie dust requests--Updated May 2

Hey all-

My dad is back in the hospital today with pneumonia again (he had a stroke back in Dec, so its been pretty rough on him since then- he's just started to try talking again and is still stuck in bed).

My mom is starting to think it may be time to let him go, and I'm really torn. Are we just postponing the inevetable by keeping him around? Or is there really hope that he may get better? I have no idea what to do.

If you can please send prayers & good thoughts his way? Thanks!

Hi Poly Princess

I know what you're going through. I just lost my Dad last week. His illness was very short and I still can't believe he's gone. I don't have any advice but I'm sending prayers to you and lots of hugs. I know how hard it is to see someone you love fade away right in front of you. I'm praying hard that your Dad will bounce back. Keep up your faith!

I just got the news a little bit ago that dad didn't make it. Can you guys please pray for my mom? They've been married 44 years, I am amazed at how strong she is being.

Thanks you

Very sorry to hear about your dad, Crystal. And yours also, figment95. Sad indeed for you both and your families. Hope your days ahead are good.

DisneyDmbNut, how is Jude doing? Better I hope. And jeleebeene, your surgery in a few days will go fine, a short rest and you will be up and at 'em in no time.

Please pray for my sister "T". God knows her heart. Pray for peace in her life. Thank you.

I haven't posted on this thread in years.

Your (as in you, the folks who read here) prayers helped a lot the last time I posted here, so I'm going to ask again for some prayers.

My 23 year-old niece has been battling numerous health problems ever since she had leukemia 10 years ago.

Now, it looks likely she has developed a very serious disease for the second time. It's called aplastic anemia, and it has a high fatality rate.

This girl has been through a lot in the past 10 years. Her life expectancy is not long, no matter what.

I'd appreciate prayers, that whatever happens, she doesn't suffer too much.

Thanks.

Updating on 3/23 to say that we found out today it is in fact aplastic anemia, a cancer that has a 70% fatality rate. She will undergo a massive dose of chemotherapy and if she survives that, she'll receive a bone marrow transplant from her younger brother.

Where there is life, there is hope. And so we continue to do just that. Thanks again.

Janice,

Sorry to hear about this. Said and will continue to pray for her. Just remember that our God is bigger than any sickness!!!

I hate to make such a selfish request, but I could really use all of the prayers my daughter and I can get. My ex is being very nasty and battling me for full custody of my daughter. The temporary custody case is in the next 2-3 weeks. My daughter wants to be with me, but my ex is playing nasty games with both of us.

I am scared to death he will "win" her, and I will never see her again. There are some other bad things going on with her right now, and I hate to see her hurting so much. I'm only allowed to see her from 6 p.m. Thursday night to 9 a.m. Sunday morning right now until the case is done (his rules).

Please pray for us, and please pray that Maddy will start hurting. I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

I will say some prayers for you, and hope that your niece is doing better.

please pray for my friend Kelli as she is in preterm labor. she is 27 of 40 weeks along. she lost a baby due to premature birth last summer so she is really hurting right now.

thanks

keep smiling

Prayers and {{{HUGS}}} go out to you and your loved ones!!

And, while you DIS'ers are at it:
Please pray for cindala and her family as she grieves for the loss of her sister, who, Saturday, lost her hard-fought battle with cancer....:(

Thanks for your concern, Steph.

I will most definitely keep your Maddy in my prayers. I hope everything is resolved in a way that causes her as little hurt as possible.

Good thoughts for Kelli and Cindala, too.

Good wishes and prayers here, for all in need, hurting in one way or another, physical, mental. Hoping things go well.'s to all.

Not good news tonight.

Lori is in the hospital with a fever. She is in isolation, meaning no visitors.

She has little left of her own bone marrow and isn't producing any white blood cells. I don't understand how someone that sick can still be alive, but she is.

They are working to stabilize her so that they can start the chemotherapy she needs in order to get the bone transplant.

The good news is that she has a sibling match for that (best scenario).

The bad news is that time is of the essence because the disease has progressed rapidly. She is nowhere near ready for the transplant and needs it very, very soon.

Just want to add my thoughts and prayers to all the requests in need. May God bless each of you and grant extra faith, strength and courage to meet each tomorrow. Think positive, always keep the faith and may your guardian angel watch over you and yours. ^i^

I pray an extra measure of grace for all of you who need it.

I ask that the angels pull double duty and that you have peace soon.

What a great thread of human compassion for strangers with a common interest.
May I ask now for prayers of peace and comfort for my BIL who lost his last surviving Uncle this morning. Even though he calls our friend Ricky Rat, he really is a loving, compassionate and understanding human being. Rest in Peace "Uncle R" and peace be with BIL Dale and family.

I would like to request prayers for my friend Lawrence McMullen in St Louis. He just found out he has liver cancer and they are giving him very little time. He needs a liver transplant.

Thank you!

I would like prayer for my sister, who is in a physically abusive situation with the father of her 2 year old son, and refuses to leave (she refuses to leave the relationship). I've tried to help her out but continues to go back to him. If any of you have personally dealt with this kind of situation and have advice, please PM me. Thank you.

Also prayer for my friend, who is comtemplating leaving her husband. They have 2 small children involved.

Please pray for my mom-we're not sure exactly what the specifics are but it looks like colon cancer that has spread to her liver and maybe lung.
We are full of hope and faith and can use as many prayers as we can-her name is Mickey. Thanks you all so very much!
