Gaillardia 'Fanfare' :)

My newspaper and a couple of sites I've checked out, are all singing the praises of Gaillardia 'Fanfare", a new introduction originating from England, that should be available in most garden centres this spring.

Compact, with a mounded form, growing 18-24". It has a long flowering period, with trumpet-like flowers (also refered to as quills), that are supposed get larger as the flower ages. Drought tolerant.

Here's a pic! :)

Very pretty. They look like they would be more of a fall flower maybe because of the color.

This new version looks lovely. With the pines gone I'll be looking for some sun-loving perennials.

It sure will be lots of fun looking in the sunny department of the nursery, have always shopped in the shadow's. I love my shade plants, but am excited about growing plants that like sun.
