I am able to book 30 days from now on MDE (I assume everyone can do this?). Is it going to mess anything up if I practice booking FP+ just so I can do it more effectively when my 60 days actually open up next month? I do cancel them within a few minutes of booking. I was just trying to become familiar with the options available.

You can practice as much as you like. Just be sure to Cancel all selections so they return to the system for others to choose.

I will definitely cancel them within a few minutes of booking them. Also, I'm picking the least popular attractions/times. I don't want to mess anyone else up. Thanks!

Good idea. I'm going to try this too. Although we have been to Disney many times, we haven't since FP+ was implemented. I'm kind of nervous about booking our FP+. Our 60 days opens up next week.

Don't sweat it! I had the same worries and booked at midnight February 3rd for Easter week. Was able to get A&E for 2 days, dropped one, and 7DMT for our 3 MK days. Best advice I can give is to start with your last day and work towards 1st.

I am confused. How can you practice if your 60 days open next month? How would you be able to book and then cancel if your 60 days have not started yet? I feel stupid because the other posters understand

So, I have tickets purchased. And I have a resort stay purchased. They all show correctly, all the names, all the reservations, and one ticket linked to each name in my party. It is not even close to 60 days out yet. When I go in to "practice", I cannot even select anyone in my party, let alone pick fast passes for them, because it says valid tickets required. I presume that this is because the system assumes my tickets are going to be used with my hotel stay, and I would not arbitrarily decide to use these tickets tomorrow or in a week.

How does the system know this?
Is this normal, that I can't even pick 30-day FPs now just to play around, because my tickets are linked to my eventual stay?
I can customize my bands, and that's about it right now. Does that sound about right?

Don't worry, I don't understand either.

How are you booking FP+ if your 60 day window is not open yet?
Active tickets in MDE allow the 30 day booking window to be open for practice.

People with Packages cannot practice because their package is not "active" until the 60 day window opens.

Got you! Yearly passes then or tickets partially used with non-expirations. Thanks

That is correct. It is a flawed assumption in the system if you buy a package with a resort stay and tickets. Is that what you did? I think if you book "resort only", and in a separate transaction, buy your tickets, this doesn't happen. But if it does, a call to IT should fix it.

I have comp tickets in my MDE that I've been using to "practice" booking FPs then reassigning the tickets to check if FPs remain - and they do. All in the name of "research" as I'll be using the comps at DL.

Thank you. We have our tickets and reservation booked for our May trip. I had not thought of using the tickets to play with the system. It seems pretty intuitive.

I first looked at March 2nd. The parades, Anna and Elsa and Seven Dwarves were showing as already booked. When I looked at March 15th, the last day available for me, only Anna and Elsa were not available. The critical day for us is the first day. We are arriving onsite on Sunday and won't be in the parks until probably 4-5 PM. We're looking for Seven Dwarves, Space and Big Thunder. It looks like we may have a good chance though we are going at a busier time.

My tickets are APs, but they haven't been activated yet. I'm didnt accidentally starting the count on them by signing in to MDE and practicing did I?!?

Also, I'm staying DVC, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

No.

The only way to activate APs is at WDW.
