Hi everybody!
While checking out other websites (my favorite pasttime as of late!), I found information on mouseplanet.com
about a tea that was (at one time) held at the DL Pacific (now Paradise Pier?) Hotel on weekends, holidays, and in the summer ...
It was $18.95 for Adults and $12.95 for Children and included tea-type foods in a Victorian setting.
Is this still held?
My DD 4 1/2 loves Mary Poppins and watches the movie nonstop, singing all the songs!
She would just adore meeting Mary Poppins for tea.
I'm just afraid this is old information, since I haven't read about it anywhere else.
Has anyone heard about this and if it still is held?
Thanks in advance!

I did this tea twice, before they discontinued it. I don't know why they stopped offering it...it was always a full house when I attended! I WISH THEY WOULD BRING IT BACK ASAP!!!! :Pinkbounc

Not to rub salt into the wound, but it really was a lot of fun. I can't believe they discontinued it! It was packed when we went, too. I wonder why they stopped doing it... :guilty:

With the 40th anniversary edition of the movie just being released recently, it would be a GREAT time to bring that tea back. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!! :wizard:

I believe it was discontinued (a few years back) because of issues with copyright of Mary Poppins or something like that. Basically Disney lost or was going to lose the rights to the Mary Poppins character?

Thanks for all the replies ... I was afraid it had been discontinued.

When we stay over at WDW this Christmas, maybe we'll plan to do the
Mary Poppins & Friends Breakfast at 1900 Park Fair at the Grand Floridian.
We usually avoid breakfasts since we never seem to eat enough to justify the cost,
but we (myself and DD4 - Daddy and the boys stayed in bed and met us later)
did the Princess Breakfast in Epcot last year and she really enjoyed it.

I just thought the Mary Poppins Tea at Paradise Pier sounded so wonderful.
Maybe they will bring it back for the summer with the 50th going on.
Spread that pixie dust over my way!

Mary and Bert were the greeters at the Princess Breakfast at the Plaza Inn. I'm not sure whether they do that all the time, but the day we were there they were great.

Bert did a great impersonation of the original Bert's appalling cockney accent, and Mary sang "spoonful of sugar" and told my girls to stand up straight and not slouch - brilliant.
