I vote for Kona - chocolate banana creme brulee!

I know I'm in the minority. I've dined at both, and we loved the food and atmosphere at Biergarten much more than Kona. However, that said, you can't go wrong with either choice!

I vote for Kona.
But, I do have to admit that I don't really care for Biergarten.
To be honest Tina, I do NOT think that touring plans should be your only reason to plan a park.
(Last year they predicted lower crowds for the MK on our last February day and it was packed - we have found them to be wrong a lot of times, and I am still subscribed)
You know, I detest Biergarten - not really German at all, very americanized food and we have eaten at Kona several times. No longer a big fan of it either. The last two times we had very slow servers, they are running ALWAYS behind and the food can be so-so.
So my bet would be to eat somewhere totally different. But that is just me!
Congrats on being at 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kona from me!
Here is our review from our meal last summer:
Dinner at Kona Cafe
Kona Kone- ice cream sundae with cotton candy! That should fuel Max through a few rides at MK.

Grats on the AP!
I, on the other hand, would go to Biergarten.I know I'm in the minority. I've dined at both, and we loved the food and atmosphere at Biergarten much more than Kona. However, that said, you can't go wrong with either choice!
Can't wait to hear what you decide!![]()
I haven't eaten at either, but if I was staying at the Poly I would take advantage of eating of eating at Kona. You can't beat eating at your own resort. Plus the food look delicious![]()
Gosh, that's an apples and oranges kind of question with pro's and cons to both.
Kona is delish, though service was slow when we were there and it's much less "Disney" to me, just a nice restaurant in a hotel. Eating at your resort, esp if you are tired and want flexibility, etc is priceless though. I'd gladly eat there again, yum!
Biergarten is a lot of fun atmosphere wise, if you are there during the show. Much more entertaining and lots of food options. Is it true traditional German? obviously not much of it but it's still pretty decent food with a ton of variety and all things being equal with a buffet, could be a bit faster if timing is a concern. I'd bet my house would have a split vote on this one 3/3 if I asked the question.
I'm no help, am I![]()
)...I decided to say the heck with Touring Plans and go with my original plan, so I cancelled Biergarten and rebooked Kona. I am still hopeful that we'll go to MK that afternoon, even if we only get to ride the Peoplemover and CoP and walk up Main Street. I want to stay close to the resort (did I mention we're staying at the Poly...and we'll be close to MK???
) and eating right at our resort on our first day sounds like a wonderful idea. I think the restaurants are a major selling point for the Poly, so...might as well take advantage of that while I'm there.
Cannot believe we're getting this close..can't believe its February already, either. Mercifully, January really flew by. And now we're almost down to my favorite part...the sweet, sweet anticipation of the whole thing. I'm purposely postponing packing (not that I've stopped making numerous lists in various formats) so I can be as busy as possible the weekend before we leave (remember we're leaving the Monday after I go on break). I will also go to bed as early as I can that Sunday, because I know I'll be doing this![]()
I remember last year when I could barely concentrate on anything else and spent a fair amount of time on here bemoaning the snowpocalypse that had seemingly engulfed the entire state of Connecticut.
Point being...I'm really excited. And on Monday, I'll be able to say..I'm going to Disney in two weeks!!!

It's almost here!

It's almost here!
I never pack early. My favorite thing is the day before leaving on vacation, I do laundry all day & then pack all night. I know...I'm crazy!
I also like make lists...and re-make lists....and then re-make them some more!
I actually think the wait till the last minute packing thing makes it all more exciting, although I'm really fighting the urge to start now.
Either way, we'll have the car all packed up and ready to take us to the airport before we go to bed Sunday night.
This trip came fast! Hopefully the weather won't change and you'll have the 75-80 degree weather FL has been enjoying all winter.Cannot believe we're getting this close..can't believe its February already, either. Mark and I were very disappointed in Biergarten in 2010 and will not be back for a long time; I'd go with Kona.

I've been checking Accuweather... OK, who I am kidding? I pretty much know what the weather is Orlando everyday. But it does look like its go to be nice. I'm looking forward to experiencing it all again without the crazy July sun. TWO WEEKS!!!!
Those single digits are just around the corner![]()
What is it with Disney restaurants and banana desserts? Amazing. Woo hoo! on 2 weeks!![]()

) to meet up with my friend Meghan, aka Max's twenty-something girlfriend. Seriously...he loves her. It's hilarious. He really thought she would be coming on our July trip.
Gotta love that kid and his amazing imagination. Anyway, he's super exciting to bring her some stuffed animals AND some candy AND some toys AND some flowers. I think we'll go with some flowers.
So sweet. We rarely fight and, well, we've been through a lot and he's unbelievably supportive, if lacking somewhat in the romance department, so when he does small things like this, it means a lot.
... so not happy about my favorite ride in all the world being closed for both of my upcoming trips), I think I just might... Or I'll change my mind and I won't. We'll see.
