Practically Perfect at the Poly? **UPDATE 7/28 -- And We're Back!!

Nice lack of crowds! The morning is the best time to be at MK. You can get so much done. I agree on the breakfast options at MK. The best option seems to be the bakery or Crystal Palace. I'm excited for the new fantasyland to open. Hopefully that will give us more options. Can't wait to see the Be Our Guest restaurant!!

I'll be keeping y'all (especially Max) in my prayers for all to go well with his surgery!

I agree with you on the lack of breakfast options in MK! Seems like they would offer more there to get people in the park. :confused3

I still can't get over how empty the parks seems on this morning! Although, that's too bad that Haunted Mansion was down. Had Max done that ride before? I'm trying to talk it up to Reid so that he'll ride it this fall.

I hope everything goes well with Max's surgery. I know how that can be stressful... even when it isn't life threatening.. it is surgery and surgery is always scary!!!

Your pictures are the perfect size... so they must have resized just fine?

Love all that you were getting done. Morning is the best time to be at MK!!!

Tina, I thought I had replied to your previous update, but obviously I didn't - might be that it was one of the posts that I just gave up on because the DIS was so slow.

I'll keep you all and Max in particular in my thoughts this week! I hope everythings goes well for him (and you!)

Max is such a cute driver on the speedway - and I don't blame you on not doing the teacups - that is one thing I don't do either, makes me really

Can't wait for more ...... popcorn::

I will definitely be keeping all of you in my thoughts this week and sending you the best of wishes for Max's surgery!!! I'm sure everything is going to go great!!

MK really does not have a lot of breakfast options! I know Sleepy Hollow now has breakfast waffle sandwiches (I'm not sure if they just have the waffle alone as an option), but they're supposedly HUGE! Not a great choice for just a hungry kid!

All caught up (I think). I will be thinking of you this week and hoping that all goes well with Max's surgery.

How fun to have a girls trip so close on the horizon. I also can't quite wrap my head around someone who has unused points (enough for a 1 bedroom even!) but that's a bonus for you!! I think you will love TiW... it's a nice discount and with 3 trips coming you'll definitely realize some savings. My recommendation is to hand it to the server when you ask for your bill- it has to be processed differently & sometimes only a manager can do it so it has the potential to add quite a bit of time to the process. Also remember that when you use the card they will automatically add in gratuity at a certain % - think it is 18%.

I am not a morning person so have never seen MK so empty! That makes rope drop sound almost tempting!

I agree about the morning being the best time to be at MK. That particular preference was one thing I discovered on this trip. I hope we'll have another option and I can't wait for the new restaurant, either. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite of all the princess movies...by far! And "Be Our Guest" is one of my favorite songs!

Thanks! Everything should go well.

I don't know why they don't offer a few more options, especially with the park open so early.

Don't want to give too much away about HM. :lmao: One thing that helped was that we have the Four Parks, One World CD and he loves the music from the ride.

Thanks, Ann. And I agree. AMs at MK are the best! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Karin! It should all be fine and I'll update FB.

The teacups are not my cup of tea! :lmao:

Thanks for the well-wishes.

I wish I had remembered about the waffles. I love waffles and Max does, too, and when I had originally read about those they had certainly piqued my interest. I think I might have forgotten about it because they weren't on the DDP?

Thank you!

I don't know how/why her aunt has all those extra points to spare, but...hey...I'm not complaining, that's for sure. I suppose its possible she either has a lot OR she bought in years ago and doesn't use it as much anymore? :confused3

Thanks for the TIW tips, too.

I'm not a morning person, either...except when I'm at Disney! :rotfl:

Thinking good thoughts for Max and your family this week. Let us know how everything goes on Thursday.

Fantastic morning so far. Love the lack of crowds at rope drop! Refresh my memory- is this 7 am or 8 am?

Yeah for Peter Pan first and Peter Pan later! The Pooh queue looks like so much fun. We saw it last July, but we don't have little ones to enjoy it.

That really is a cool picture of Beast's castle.

I hope everything goes perfect for Max's surgery.

I'm a firm believer in rope drop especially for the MK.

I also don't care for the speedway and can not ride the tea cups. I do not do round and round.

Count me in as another person excited about the expansion. I did shed a few tears for Toontown but I'm pretty much over it now.

Thank you...its scary, but the procedure is fairly routine. Although anytime you mix kids and anesthesia, its scary.

It was an 8 a.m. rope drop. :scared1: Plenty early enough for me.

I didn't even know that the picture was that interesting until I posted it and realized how well you could see it from that vantage point.

I hope everything goes perfect for Max's surgery.

And who isn't excited about the expansion??? :confused3

Thankfully, Max made it through his surgery with no problems. Nothing more than a bloodshot eye and some blood stained tears. :goodvibes I can now safely say that the surgery was relatively minor. It took about an hour. I cannot possibly say enough good things about the staff at the Children's Med. Center in Hartford. They are truly wonderful people! Max even got to drive an electric toy car into the OR. (OK, just outside the door of the OR, but still...) The only scary part was when Max was coming out of the anesthesia and was thrashing around and the nurse and I to restrain him so he wouldn't rip his IV out. And even that wasn't scary so much as....well, just one of those things that is really tough to watch when its your baby.

We are now home and Max took a long enough nap for Mark and I to clean the house! :woohoo: Plus, I worked my butt off earlier this week so I can now take off the entire weekend and not even so much as think about school until Monday morning. Believe me, for a teacher not working on a weekend is a big deal. :rotfl:

Max is now up and watching "Cars." Go figure. And I'm just relaxing with him and the dog and feeling pretty content and thankful right now.

I am especially grateful for all the kind thougths, prayers, and :goodvibes that were sent our way this morning for all over the world! You are all amazing!

Oh...and is it too soon to mention... I'm at SINGLE digits for my girls' trip! :dance3: And knowing that everything went well today means I can start to get excited for the trip because it really is going to happen. Max's surgery was originally scheduled for December, but got pushed back because he had a head cold. Then it was rescheduled for February, but it got pushed back again because of a scheduling issue with my school. When I bought the plane tickets for April, I had no idea that Max's surgery would end up happening a week prior. Thankfully, tickets are Southwest, so I could've gotten a credit had something happened to prevent me from going.

But...that's not an issue...just breathing a hugh sigh of relief and looking forward to spending the weekend spoiling my baby! :lovestruc

Tina, I already sent my "thoughts and "likes" on FB, but I wanted to come here and say I'm glad all went well with Max. Snuggle up and enjoy CARS!

Somehow I missed your last update and when you mentioned that Max would be having surgery. But I'm glad that it's over and went well....I think he needs some ice cream! (Yes, I know it wasn't a tonsilectomy or anything, but I think he needs some ice cream anyway. ;))

Tina, I am so happy to hear that Max is doing well after his surgery! :goodvibes I can only imagine the relief you feel!

And Yay! for you still getting to go on the girls' trip! :cheer2:

YAY for Max! I'm so glad everything went well for him today. I'm sure you are very relieved too. Enjoy your weekend with your guys.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Tina, I am thrilled to hear that Max's surgery went well and that you are all back home!

I was so happy to read all your positive FB posts so I knew that Max was just fine. Aren't childrens' hospitals wonderful? From the smallest procedure to a life threatening illness, they really work to allay the fears of parents.

Didn't realize Max's surgery was canceled twice. I get you are SO glad this is behind you! Hope you have an awesome weekend! :goodvibes

:woohoo: I am so glad that everything went well with Max's surgery. I know how nerve wrecking it can be... and when they come out of anesthesia... it is so hard to watch. :sad2: Glad you have the weekend to relax!

I'm really glad Max's surgery went well. I had to watch Landon come out of anesthesia once and it is very hard to do. Enjoy your weekend off! :goodvibes
