Trying to book airfare, for end of April. I usually book much earlier, but with Christmas, etc. I didn't get it done, and sometimes before I would book, only to find cheaper on another Airline closer to the trip.

Found a flight from ind to mco, for $136.00 RT. It has been that price for several weeks. I'm from the Dayton, Oh area, and was trying to wait out Delta, for the 162.50 RT fare they had last week, and raised over the weekend. Well Delta didn't go lower, so my DH and I, decided that the drive would be worth it, for better flight times, and prices.

Went to book this morning, and now Northwest went up to $156.00. Still a good price, but prob. not worth the drive.

Any one got a guess, on how good my chances are for fares to go back down, later this week, or should I just book now.

I know certain days are better than others, to book.

Any Suggestions. I'm ready to pull my hair out

It's always tough to answer that question. We are going on USAirways from 2/1-2/8 for $116.00 r/t, which is great. :cool1: Yesterday I read they are having a rerun of that sale through 3/17 (must buy by midnight today). If Delta mimics that price in your area, that would work. So much is based on competing airlines in the same region. We have SW now, too. Is that an option for you?

We went ahead and booked that $136 RT from Indy to MCO. We were afraid we wouldn't find any cheaper!! We are pretty happy with that rate since it is about $70 cheaper a ticket than what we paid in 2002!!

Good luck....

Southwest flies out of Columbus, but times and prices cruddy.

We flew from Indy, in 2003- $136.00 RT then too.

I'm just hoping to get that again.

We just used them from Dayton & had direct flights both ways. At great times too...first thing in the morning & early evening flight out.

Today I checked for May dates & the rates were $69 each way & this included the direct flights. I know the Sunday night direct back for my dates was at $94 but if I wanted to fly back on a different day or have a connecting flight, it would be back to $69. This was a sale fare that ends today, 1/18. Their rates seem to be lower on Tues & Thurs if you check back don't be suprised to see it higher on say a Wed.

Not sure if you $138 rate included all taxes, if it did the savings might be worth the drive. If not, then it looks to be about the same & you could save on drive time & perhaps parking if someone could take you & drop you off at Dayton airport.

This was our first time using Airtran & I would use them again. Planes were in good shape & staff were friendly. A great rate for direct flights too.

Good luck.

The airtran flights that are $69.00 leave late on Sat, the 23rd, and come back late the 30th. To leave earlier it went up to $94.00. That doesn't include tax

I'm going to have to lose Disney time, either coming or going. When DH gets home tonight, we are going to book something. Right now our best bet, is Delta leaving Fri eve, and returning the next Sat at 3 pm. I really wanted that later flight, but $125.00 more, for only 4 more disney hours seems like a lot.

I think I'm too picky.  I want to leave either Fri afternoon, or very early Sat morn, and come back as late as poss. the next Sat. for around $150.00. So what's wrong with wanting everything? :earboy2:

Thanks for all your help :flower:

I wish those type of flights were offered out of my area to MCO- I'm in NJ. My flight for 3/5-3/12 on Delta was $220- and that's a great deal, they are all closer to $300+ now!

My advice for booking flights online- always go online and check at rare times, i.e. in the middle of the afternoon. THe past 2 flights I've booked- one to Key West and the other to MCO- were about $100 cheaper than when I checked that same evening!!

Booked last night :jumping4: :jumping4: : Delta $162.00 RT., on the days and times we wanted too. Non-stop down, and 1 stop back. Doing my Disney happy dance :cool1: :cool1:
