I know... I can never be satisfied with my hotel choices LOL. I would love to stay at the GCH again. We had an awesome view in July- a view that was just pure luck and I doubt I would ever get the same park view again. It was a perfect view right in front of the Mickey Wheel and Mullholand Madness. I could pay an extra $200 to request a theme park view- but I doubt I would get the Mickey Wheel. I would prolly get something else- and then be upset of all the money I wasted. So that leaves me thinking about PPH- I know its nothing comparable to the Grand... but all I am looking for is a good view of the Mickey Wheel from my room- and I would love to be able to hear the noise from the rides and people enjoying themselfs. i know at the Grand - you have this great balcony- and can hear everything! Which was awesome...so I was wondering if you can hear from the PPH.... do the theme park rooms have a guarantee view? Is there a sliding window or something like that I can open and would i be able to "hear the noise"?
Also would the conceirge themed rooms have even a better view? thanks for helping!

We stayed at PPH last week. We had a room with a view of Mickey's wheel, mulloland madness, Screaming, we could see the parade and WoC. The room had great view, but it was noisy. Maybe too noisy for my taste, we got to hear the music from WoC twice every night, and you are right, during the daytime you get to hear people screaming for the rides.

The nice thing was going to the rooftop to watch the fireworks at night.

We have stayed at PPH View Room twice and really love it! Once was concierge and once wasn't - we had almost the same view each time, so I don't think that makes a difference. Just try to get as high a floor as possible and not right by the elevator, where the building makes a funny jig so the view isn't quite as good. You definitely can open the window and hear all the noise and music. Unlike the Grand where the building goes all over, so there are many types of view, PPH is a long rectangle, so basically you have the one side (the view rooms) looking at DCA and the other side looks at the parking lot.

Now, from where the hotel is, the view of Mickey's Wheel is different - it is more from behind than at the Grand.

Below are some pictures from our stay in May - one is in the early morning before the park was open, the last is after the park closed when they were testing WOC. Sorry they aren't the best - these were with my little P&S camera.

The Grand is definitely our favorite hotel, but for the cost, we've only stayed there once.

HTH!

Oh those replys certainly helps! I am getting all excited again! I thank you both! I am glad to hear that I can open the window and hear the noise! Awesome! I guess I am wierd. LOL. good tip advice too! I really enjoyed sitting on the balcony after returning from the parks after closing and watching the cm's work on the park all night! Plus the Mickey Wheel being lit all night was sooo super cool to watch the many changing colors.
Your picture had an amazing view!!!! Thank you for responding!
