I know the answer is probably a big fat NO, but any chance we can find the power rangers in the parks? or anything to do with them? The disney store is selling their stuff now but i'm not sure what difference that makes.

My kids would positively fall over and choke if they ran into them somewhere!

Gosh, you learn something new every day. I had no idea that there was a Disney/Power Rangers relationship.

Then I found out Disney acquired the rights to the show in 2001, when it bought Fox Family.

I have not seen any Power Rangers in the parks. Green Army men, yes -- Power Rangers, no.

Not saying that they aren't there -- just that I personally have not seen them!

And Steph -- would you really want your kids to fall down and choke, lol!

Hi Steph (recognize you from 2 Peas)

I don't know when that whole acquisition came about! I went into the Disney store at Christmas time and found Power Rangers! Wow! I was surprised! I bought a sweatshirt for my DS. We're planning a WDW trip this summer, and I never even thought about Power Rangers roaming the parks. Wouldn't my DS (and your boys, too) just about DIE if they ran into a Power Ranger. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to get a picture of DS with a Power Ranger to scrap! I'm interested to see if anyone has seen them in the parks!

Power Rangers are not currently in the parks, but I understand Entertainment is working on some projects that will feature them in the near future.

That would be pretty neat to have PR in the parks - maybe by my Christmas visit. I was surprised too when I saw the PR movies in the Disneymovieclub mailing. Way back when the initial PR movie came out (remember the hype of the "White Ranger, Tommy?) I took my oldest son, who was maybe 6, to meet Tommy and Adam at the White Flint Mall for a photo op to promote the movie. He was absolutely beside himself and is grinning like a nut in the picture which I had blown up and is still hanging on his wall some 8 yrs later, lol. He was speechless he was so excited. Now my youngest is 7 and he would love to meet the rangers as well. I thought they had lost their appeal but I suppose not and Disney may just make them popular again.

Many years ago the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles roamed the Studios and we have pictures of our oldest with them too. That was cool.

We also have pix of our kids with the Ninja Turtles. They were on the backlot -- had a little display and periodically did a little dance and posed for pictures. My boys (5 and 9 at the time) thought they were wonderful.

I don't think Power Rangers have hit the retro craze yet, but the turtles sure have. Both my older boys (one a 20-year-old computer nerd college engineering major, the other a 16-year-old very cool skateboarder) have Ninja Turtle T-shirts.

Because Disney does not own all of the Power Rangers Franchise, they must receive total permission for it's other part owners before they can do anything with them (merchandising, theme park appearances, etc.) Currently, there are no Power Rangers in the park, but if their popularity stays high and merchandise sells well, I wouldn't doubt that Disney would attempt to incorporate then into MGM.

Hmm, maybe by December, maybe I should start an email campaign! I can just see my 3 year old trying to battle with the rangers now..he is SO cool! lol. My kids would love the Ninja turtles too-

On another note- the original yellow ranger passed away recently. Did ya'll hear? She got in a car accident. how sad. :(

How sad. The original yellow from tv series or movies? One was an asian actress, name on show was Trini and from movies was an african american, name in movie was Aisha. Either way that is terrible since both women are so young!

as I totally dislike the Power Rangers. Can't believe Disney bought them and even thinking of adding them to the parks! Universal, yes-I can see that but not Disney! Augh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Run away, run away!

Power Rangers is the epitome of Eisner's notorious moeny-saving scheme.

Take a 70's Japanese low-budget show, polish it up a bit, and call it theirs.

Come to think of it... just like The Lion King (which is a direct rip-off of Japan's Kimba the Lion King)
