Planning a Sept. trip to Universal. Booked a room at HR and then decided to get power passes. I was going to cancel the room and rebook to get the AP discount but I have to pick the tickets up at the window, so I don't have a Passholder ID to login and check the rates.

Can I call and get my Passholder ID or do I have to wait until we activate the tickets to get the discount?

TIA!

You can get the discount by typing in "APH" in the box for Promotion/Group Code. Then just pick your AP before check in :)

Ah thanks. It ended up being almost $50/night MORE expensive with the AP "discount" :crazy2:

Looks like we are getting a discount already which is better than the AP discount?

If you have Stay More Save More that is often better than the AP rate.

Always make sure you can get a good rate before buying, if a better rate is the ONLY reason for the purchase.

It may be the case that when you put in the APH code, there were not APH rates left and it just defaulted to rack rate. $50 more/night for AP rate doesn't sound quite right. Might be that only the more expensive rooms are left at the AP rate or make sure it actually says "Annual Passholder Rate" beside the quote to ensure that it actually is the annual passholder rate. If you are staying longer than 4 days, the SMSM rate is often better than the APH rate.

That's the one! I was really happy with the Stay More Save More rate for HR, we were going to stay there regardless. AP was an afterthought, we originally planned 1/2 week at Disney 1/2 at Universal which evolved into all Universal. I was trying to apply the AP rate to the rate we were getting which is already a pretty decent discount.

Can't freakin wait :yay:

Yeah it's an 8 day stay currently, returning in the spring so we got the AP. Now that we aren't doing Disney we may drop this trip to 5 days with 4 1/2 park days. I played with the dates a little and the breakeven for APH vs. SMSM was 4 or 5 days I think. I'm really happy with the rate we got for HR, walking to the parks and EP

Be careful if you plan on changing your length of stay. What Universal does is completely cancels your booking and rebooks at whatever rate is available at that time. They don't just chop days off and let you keep your rate and reservation.

That's really good to know, thanks!!
