Power adapters and extension cords (again!)

You guys have misread my original post. I never said that charging at a higher amp would damage the phone or the battery. I only said that in the long term it can negatively impact your battery life.

The article you quoted isn't really a good example of the question asked as We don't know what the device was rated for that the poster was using. For example, an iPhone can take 2.1 amps and therefore if you supply it with 2.1 amps it will take it. Similarly, if you supply it with 1.2 amps it will take 1.2 amps. If you supply it with 5 amps it will only take 2.1. You will notice a difference in the charging times between the 2.

So with the OP's original question I wanted to make sure they had all the facts that these chargers are great, I use them constantly, but they are not all made equal and you want to select the best one for your equipment.

Edited to fix link.
