My DD is potty trained but has only recently (in the last couple of weeks) stopped wearing pull-ups to bed. She does a pretty good job of not wetting the bed at night, but still has an occasional accident. We have the waterproof mattress pad that we use at home. Don't really want to bring it with us (I don't plan on doing laundry since we are only going for a weekend trip). And I don't want to put a pull-up on her and have a set back.
Has anyone else had this issue and what have you done to protect the hotel bed at night?
I would not go back to pull ups to set her back. I would, however, bring the mattress pad. If she doesn't have an accident, no washing needed. If she does have an accident, you can either throw it away or wash it and that is being considerate to other guests. As another hotel guest, I would be pretty mad to get a bed that smelled like urine.
However, I can tell you that the the WDW housekeeping staff is very understanding when it comes to "accidents". Thanks to a leaky pull-up, we had to request new sheets one morning. They were very understanding and brought us everything we needed to change the bed sheets and took away the soiled ones. Continued luck with PTing and have a great trip!
When we would go on any vacay after he was first trained he ALWAYS soaked everything. I learned really quick to bring the trash bags to go under him. Saved me from setting in a laundry room and cleaning the blow up. I just started potty training with DD and I'm guessing she will be still in pull ups /plastic pants at night (she still drenches her night diaper) when we make it to our trip in Jan if not I will be packing the trash bags for her.
