My son has been day trained for several months and dry at night for about 3 months. Even though he was dry at night he continued to use pull-ups for at night until about a month ago because he felt more reassured that way. He's been in undies at night since then though with no accidents. I was wondering though if I should get some pull-ups maybe just in case. I was thinking maybe having him wear them in the airport and on the plane, and maybe at night in the hotel. He's usually like a camel about holding it in, but I was thinking with the excitement of flying and also being in a strange bed (that I don't want him to pee all over) that maybe the pull-ups just for the nights and the plane would be a good idea. Do you think it might give him the wrong idea though?

I put my DS in pull ups at Disney and on the plane. I told him this was a special thing just in case he forgot to tell me or we couldn't get to the bathroom. He was ok with that. He never had an accident but there were those times he said he had to go and we were not close to a bathroom...or getting on the Safari ride or in the middle of a bus ride....

Depends on your son. You don't want to regress him but I looked at as a peace of insurance at my mind and my DS was fine with it.

The first time we went to WDW, my son had been trained for over a year without any type of accidents whatsoever. Well, he was just so tired at night, he had an accident on the third day. He was mortified. I would suggest using one at night for sure. The plane might not be a bad idea either--you might not be able to get up and go and little ones can't always hold it till you can. I think there are tons of bathrooms everywhere at the parks, so that one I'm not so sure about. Personally, I'd skip the parks.

Thanks for the advice. I can probably tell my DS that there's a special rule that if you're 3 you have to wear pull-ups when you go to Disney. He'll probably beleive that. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: I told my DS that there was no argueing alowed in WDW! It was the happiest place on earth and we all had to get along :confused3

I put my ds in a pull-up on the plane, mainly because we do these loooong cross country flights and when he has to go it always seems like he has to go "right now!" I'm so afraid we will be under a seatbelt restriction and he will have to go. Much better for peace of mind just to have the pull-up IMO.

DS3 was potty trained for about 6 months when we went, but was still wearing pull-ups at night. I kept them on him on the plane also, just to be safe. But unfortunately, on the first day at a park, Grandma let him drink some chocolate milk (milk is a big no-no for him) and he ended up having a very messy accident within about 15 minutes. It was pretty traumatic for him and DH who had to clean him up in the men's room. After that, we kept pull-ups on him all week. It just wasn't worth the risk to me. He never "went" in them and we brought him to the potty a lot. He also asked to go if we didn't offer. I don't think it was a set-back for him at all and he was pretty good about it. He went right back into undies when we got home with no problem.

We did the same thing with DD when she was 2 and we were driving to a family reunion in Canada. We were in the car for 12 hours and you never know when and if you can find a bathroom.

I'd still suggest pullups at night (strange room + extra tired, out of schedule child = larger chance of wetting).
You can also request waterproof sheets to put on the bed at the resort underneath the regular sheets. Just call Housekeeping and request them. They will provide extras in case you need to change them during the night.

If you are concerned about a mixed message with pullups in the parks, you can put on regular underwear and put pullups over them. That way, if he does wet, he won't have anything other than wet underwear and if you can't get to a bathroom really quickly, you won't have to worry as much.
I have seen situations where someone wet in theater seats and the next person to sit down got a wet butt because either the family who were responsible didn't know or didn't tell anyone that the seat got wet. Wearing pullups over the underwear would prevent that from happening.

My son was 2 1/2 and had been trained about two months during the day when we went to disney, for peace of mind I put diapers on him (we didn't use pullups). I just explained to him to let me know when he had to go. I also more or less still asked him at this stage, he doesn't go much so usually wake up, before we leave for somewhere, before nap, etc, so he didn't ever have the need to tell me. My mom didn't understand why I kept them on him because he never went in them, but I Just did. It was peace of mind. No set backs when we got home and actually at disney he was staying dry all night so no more diapers when we got home.

We just went again and I just took underwear, he just turned 3. No problems, but he had experienced disney before so the thrill of everything the first time was over!

I was thinking about this as well. I'm worried my daughter may have an accident on the rides if she gets to excited or scared. ( she'll be 3.5 at the time of our trip)Has anyone's child ever done this?

My son is a week out of diapers and will be trained for only a month b4 we go to the world.......he will still be wearing diapers at nap time(if he naps) and at night time until he is consistant about waking up dry. Oh.....btw he is 3 1/2 in April.
