There are two adults and one child. Its $35 a day for each adult and I think $10 for the child

We have 4 character dinners reserved which can be used with this.

As I have never been, I had heard the prices for food was high so it seemed like a good deal, but after reading lots of posts Im not sure.

Anyone had any experience with this program?

Our trip is Aug 6th -13th so the free dining doesnt apply

what are the ages of your children? if they are both under 10, and over 3, i would say it's a good deal, especially if you plan to do some character meals... if you decide to go with it, my best advice is to read the brochure and be sure you know what you are entitled to...

although, if your kids are not big eaters, you may be able to have them share some counter service meals which would save money...

your best bet, imo, would be to go to www.allearsnet.com and check out the menus and estimate costs for where you will be eating/what you are likely to order... and do a comparison... be sure to add in snacks, as they do add up! good luck & enjoy! :flower:

Yes it is definitely worth it. Even with Counter Service how and especially since you have 4 character meals, I would think this would pay for the MMY Dining Plan itself alone. You didn't mention the age of your child but the new age limitation is now over 9 is treated as an adult. The package also includes taxes and gratuity. I think if you did some math on the meals, go to Allearsnet.com and look at the menus etc you will find you will come out ahead.

1 table-service meal including appetizer, entree, dessert, and nonalcoholic beverage and gratuity charge
1 counter-service meal including entree, dessert and nonalcoholic beverage at select counter-service locations
1 snack, such as a frozen ice cream bar, box of popcorn, 20 oz bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Dasani water or a medium fountain soft drink at select snack cart locations
As an added benefit, you may exchange 2 table-service meals for either 1 Signature Dining Experience at one of our finest restaurants, such as the acclaimed California Grill or for 1 Disney Dinner Show, such as Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.

We are considering it for our trip as well. We are thinking of doing the MYW package for 5 nights, tickets, and the dining. It works out to be about $430.00 for the dining, but when we price out the meals that we'll do, it saves us about $200.00, so for us, it's a good deal. We just made a list of what meals we'd like to do, then added the cost for each of those meals, then we compared the two.........

Sample :
Day 1. Breakfast - Donald's Breakfastosaurus $17.99 x 2 = $35.88 PLUS $9.99 = $45.88

Lunch - Yakitori House $29.54 (2 adults 1 child)

snack - 2 soda's 1 ice cream = $7.37

Dinner - San Angel Inn - appetizer Queso Fundido for 2 $ 9.25
Meal - $23.95 + $ 19.95 = $43.90 PLUS/no kids menu here - so child's meal reflects lowest entree price $17.95 = Total for Dinner $61.85

Total Cost Day 1 = $ 129.90

ON the Dining Plan it would cost $ 86.97 ($ 37.99 x 2 = $75.98 + $10.99 = 86.97) saving you $ 42.93

If you use that method times 5 days you'd save $214.65 using the dining option.

I forgot to add that my ds will be 6 on this trip, if you child is over 9, they will be charged the adult rate. Regardless, it will save you money!!!

Frankly, I'm hoping the FREE dining will still be going on in Feb. 06....... :earsboy:

That's a great deal......... wish we could go earlier!!!!

My duaghter is 6 so its perfect. I figured with the character meals 4 nights it was well worth it

I also wanted to add, because it may be confusing, that in my **sample** meal plan, based on what we are planning on doing, the character breakfast, and dinner can work, even though they are both sit down meals, we won't be doing dinner on the last night, so opted to do the character breakfast to replace that. That is how it would work, I guess normally, you can't do 2 sit down meals a day without obviously spending the appropriate vouchers. I hope that makes sense.

Basically - for 5 days you'd get 5 snacks, 5 counter service and 5 sit down meals each. If you were to do a character breakfast, then another sit down meal on the same day, you'd use up 2 of your sit down meal vouchers in one day, therefore leaving one day without a sit down meal, but for us, like I stated, since we'll leave before dinner on our last day, we'll be able to do it, and not be "out" a dinner/sit down meal. Hope that makes sense!!!! I'm about to confuse myself!!!! LOL
