I got my e-mail this morning. My username is ShieldStar58. I haven't been able to log in yet since of course the site is overloaded. Surprise surprise. But once I do get in, I'd love friends, so definitely add me.

My email came overnight, but I can't get in..overloaded. They are really going to have to do something about this before they open it to the public.

For sure. If they don't get this worked out, I can probably forget ever getting to do much, since being one of the last to get the welcome e-mail means I'll have less time before the public can start joining.

So this morning, I had a hard time getting in. Lots of refreshing. But once I got in, when the site busy message would come up, then I only had to refresh and it would let me in again.

I just got in this morning and have not had any tiime to get in . Then I have to tutor tonight so I guess it is going to have to wait until Thursday when I have a day off.

So after several server busy messages, I finally got to the sorting. I ended up in the hatsall scenario and had an 8th question asking me which house I wanted. I picked Ravenclaw, and then it said I was sorted into Ravenclaw.

I hope it was my answers that got me to the 8th question, and not site hiccups and so my answers weren't recorded correctly, and so it didn't have the info it needed. Only now, I have a big problem. It won't let me into the common room. It says the content is locked, and I can't move forward. Googling indicates this does happen and you have to email them, and then wait for a fix. Which after waiting so long to get in, in the first place, is frustrating.

I've finally managed to get in and made it to Diagon Alley ~ chapter 5. I've done all the shopping and got my wand. (Vine with unicorn core, eleven and three quarter inches, pliant)... but it wont unlock for me to leave chapter 5 and move on to chapter 6.

Am I missing something?

While Googling for my locked area problem, I saw that a bunch of other people were being locked out in going from 5 to 6. I don't think you are missing anything, just that the website and servers are "not ready for prime time." I think we have to be patient while they reset something.

However, if you want to know how to send a message to them. On the bottom of the page, there is a Help link. Click that, then "Other" > "What's Next" >something like "You still need help?" currently can't get on and remember what it says exactly.

Then it will bring up a box where you can type in a message and email them.

Is there a website that helps you find the hidden items? I would love to check and see if I missed anything.

Also, I asked this a few pages back but I think it got lost in the thread. If I give out my user name and friend people, what info can they see about me?

Friends on Pottermore can't see anything except your name, what house you are in, and comments you make on different pages. (There is a tab to sort comments by Everyone or Friends). I would go in and double-check this information but the site isn't letting me in again.

This is just Beta so I don't know if this will change or not. It seems pretty secure so I will allow my kids to have friends in Pottermore. It looks easy enough to remove friends if that becomes necessary.

Is there a list of DIS Pottermore names somewhere? I've gotten friend requests, and want to make sure they're you all and not just random.

I have to say, with all the resources and money the HP franchise has, I thought Pottermore would be more interactive-more than just looking at the scene and zooming in and out to grab things. I hope I'm not missing some way of moving around more!

Oh my gosh I'm finally in! After getting the pink rejection screen saying the site was down for two days straight, I finally got in! I haven't gotten far yet but I'm so excited!

After 2 days, I finally got back in. I accepted friend requests, thanks . I was in for about 1 minute and the site went down again. This is so frustrating. I can't get past chapter 1, the site keeps going down. Is this happening to anyone else?
