According to several of the Potter fan sites, no one has received the welcome email yet. There is a lot of speculation as to the order the emails will be sent but there is no official word from Pottermore so, for now, guess all we can do is wait for our owls.

There is a lot of talk that they will not go out until the riots in London calm down. According to some (I can not 100% check the validity of this information), the employees have been told to stay home for now until it is safer for them to travel to the offices.

There have been NO welcome emails that have been verified. There are a lot of fakes out there though, so don't fall for the "OMG someone got theirs!" that you are seeing on twitter and tumbler. 99% of the ones out there are obviously fakes (spelling mistakes, obvious pixel issues, grammar mistakes, oversights, ect) and the other 1% are considered to be as well since that would mean about 2 people got in otherwise lol.

I just got what looked very legit welcoming my daughter who got through on Day 4. It says that it will be opening up between mid August and late September. It also said to check Pottermore Insider for upcoming news.

Yep, same here! Also for my daughter, also on Day 4. Looks legit to me as well.

lol I was just searching for this thread to post the same! Looks like they are offering first dibs for tweens. I made accounts for my 13 year old son first, then myself, then my daughter. She received the email, so it doesn't look like they are doing things in order, but by age?

There are official emails. It looks like a second email is going out to a few people, but not all. The majority of them (read, not all) seem to be for younger members and their parents. They do not seem to match up with what day you signed up.

I think they did it just to make my post look bad LMAO.

If they are doing it young to old, regardless of the day you signed up, guess this ancient witch is going to have to wait awhile. Sigh. Serves me right for being honest about my age instead of using a time-turner or getting Fred and George to brew me up a "youth" potion.

I guess they figure the older folks have more patience (not really) and can wait to get in.

These are NOT the welcome emails! (Not yelling at you bevgray, just quoting you for reference). These emails are simply explaining that you are confirmed and that the actual "welcome" emails will be going out over the next month. Really, these are nothing to be that excited about. Like I said, they mostly seem to be going out to the younger people who signed up (though this is not 100% the case, it just seems the majority based off of reports).

If so, LilyWDW is correct. This is not very different from the validation email and does not really indicate when entry will be available. The main thing it updates is that instead of the previous Pottermore Insider 8 August date, they have moved it back to mid-August.
It still doesn't indicate an order of entry. At least they are communicating so that is good news.

You seem to know an awful lot without being official. And these assumptions are quick considering the emails have just started going out with the last hour or so.

i got mine bout an hour ago. i dont need aprental permission but i know that i was one of the first thousand or so people. (within 3 minutes of the first clue being released) and im excited that i got any kind of email from pottermore.
