Hi, sorry to sound like an idiot, but being from the uk I had never heard of a potsticker until reading some trip reports here on DIS. Could someone explain what this is for me? I do like to try new foods so maybe this should go on my "to do" list.

Many thanks,
Claire

ever have dumplings at a chinese buffet? thats pretty much a potsticker

potstickers are just pan-fried wontons.

just think dimsum. The look like this:

or like this:

they have ground pork/shrimp/veggie inside them. You make them like wontons, then you sear them in a pan then steam it in the same pan. The name potstickers come from the fact that when you sear it, it sticks to the pot until you steam them then they come loose.

Thankyou! Its much clearer now, and of course I have had them before :rotfl2:
