Pots and Pans.... what type do you have, how long have you used them???

All Clad...love them. I have had them for 7 years now and they still look brand new.

I just bought my Mom a set for Mother's day:D

I got the really really expensive stainless steel 25 years ago. They lasted but started looking icky. I bought Cooks essentials from QVC about 4 years ago. I have some of the stainless and some of the hard anodized. I LOVE them. My favorites are the hard anodized. I have compared the different brands and I find the Cooks Essentials to be every bit a good as some of the others. MUCH less expensive. I have purchased them for all of my kids for wedding presents. My oldest son almost got caught up into buying the kind that are demonstrated at shows for newlyweds until he saw mine and decided they were just as good for 1/5 the price.

I bought a set of calphalon non stick at Kohls about a year ago and really love them. They were under $500.00 and have glass lids. You cannot put them in the dishwasher but I didn't put many pans in it anyway so it's no big deal for me.

::yes:: Me, too. I have had mine for about 6 years and I just love them. I have burned stuff in them, and it still comes clean..I just wish I had a gas stove to get the full benefit from them..

I've got the copper bottom Revere ware. I've had it about 10 years. Still holding up fairly well, but I want new stuff, particularly all oven proof pots & pans (the Revere has plastic handles).

Those of you w/ Circulon, I have a question: Doesn't stuff get stuck in all those ridges?

So far, no. We haven't had anything stick. But we also hand wash.

I also have All Clad. They are 8 years old, I got them for my bridal shower. They are great and have really stood the test of time. i have added a few pieces over the years, and am mighty grateful I didnt have to buy the set.

Prof. Hard Anodized Calphalon...have had the set for a few months. They cook incredibly, but can be hot to handle.

I, too, have had Farberware since we were married 34 years ago. I have added pieces over the years, but the originals are still almost as good as new. One thing I do to them is clean the inside and the bottoms with the Cameo Aluminum and Stainless Steel Cleaner. That might help perk up your old pieces.

If I were to buy any more now it would be the Farberware classic with the nonstick coating. The outside looks the same as what you have now but the inside is a high quality non-stick coating. I bought one of the fry pans and it is terrific!

There is a Farberware outlet in the next town from me. They have sets of all the different types at reasonable prices. They also have some individual "try out" pieces priced very low. Sometimes department stores have those as well. It would be a good way to try the new stuff without investing in an entire new set.

Anyway, I swear by the good old Farberware.
