POTC online Beta Test

edit:This is so funny, I was thought I was going crazy, but last night at 2:00 am someone in game finally helped me. It seems I caught a beta bug and it not get the boe beck quest, so as i ran around i had not purpose, the black smith room was empty to me as well as the jungle and the mansion that mrs swann was in. Anyways I made a new pirate "yellowhawk" and I am on the move, now how do i get that ship Elizabeth gave me?

If Elizabeth gave you a ship, goto the docks on either port royal or tortuga. Walk up to the dockworker, usually almost at the end of the docks toward the water. Talk to him. He will deploy your ship to you.

You need to tell people which Sea you will be in. POTC has instances, just like VMK. If you click on your map, you will see the Sea number at the top. Should say 7th Sea or 4th sea or something like that. Right under that, there is an arrow. If you click the arrow you can click which Sea you want to be on.

I am in the beta for this and was reading through parts of this thread. From what I remember in being in beta from City of Villians and another game you aren't suppose to discuss anything outside of the game or you risk losing your beta spot. And someone mentioned a guide. If there was one at all it would be on the beta boards for the game and only there. That is if Disney allows one. I know each game is different so what was allowed over on COV might not be on Disney's.
Also I noticed some were asked for credit card info. When I did it I wasn't asked for that at all. I do know that no matter what if you are in beta you have to be 18yrs or older. There are tons of reasons behind that. I can't remember all but saw some not happy with it when Villians was in beta.
Sadly, I have only been able to try the game out a few times. I can't do much with the amount of lag and how it stops every other minute or so cause of ads changing. And me being a gamer and married to one, I have to say the game is ok for what it is but its not as good as I was hoping it would be. Then again maybe I got spoiled by a different mmo. I do like how Disney will have it so you can play for free or pay the extra if you want for added features so it will give all a chance to play the game if they decide to either way which most don't do. I do look forward to seeing how the finished product turns out once the major bugs are worked out.

You should probably take the pic off. I would hate for anyone to lose their chance in the beta but they don't want pics posted (yes that screen counts since its part of the game's beta) or info on the game posted. Its part of the agreement you "sign" when you join beta.

why is it that in every thread no matter what board you are on there always has to be a buzz killer? look we all know the agreements we sign and we do have a right to express our opinion as you have. no one is talking in detail about specifics of the game. no one is posting screen shots or even links to screen shots. if some one asks for ideas to help them kill a crab there is nothing wrong with that. as much as we value the idea that all have a right to their opinion please if you want to preach, do it somewhere else.

Beta boards are there for those kind of questions as well as to let them know about bugs, talk about the game, etc. I have been gaming for many years now and have been in a few betas before this so I know how it works. Heck one of the last 2 didn't even want you telling people you were in it. They were super picky about it all. But I'm sorry if you are talking about things in the game and asking for help on things in it then it is giving things away about the game period. Take it as preaching if you want but whatever. And maybe if you are running into others telling you this on other boards its because its a reminder of what you "sign" as the agreement to do the beta for POTC.

well first off you are the only one that is coming at us like you regulate the game, as i said before we are well aware of what we signed and know what we are allowed to discuss. even you mentioning the lag problems relates to game play and system operation which falls into the same catagory, so you are as guilty as anyone on this board. you also come across as implying you are the only person to participate in previous beta testing (by the way i would never brag about testing or even playing city of villians, the game is horrible). i have tested many games including many expansions to world of warcraft. besides this is not any of those game or even the same company so it is unrelated. we appreciate the concern you offer but if anyone loses their testing privilages its our own doing. as long as you feel you are following the rules to your own interpertation then that is all you need to concern yourself with. let others post and discuss what they feel comfortable with. we don't need anyone pointing their finger and waiting for oppertunities to say "i told you so", that is what our mothers are for!
