My question: In the sword training, I have gotten my Hack and Slash down pat, but with both of my characters I am unable to figure out Sweep. It says move your cursor over the Sweep icon and let go - What Sweep icon? Where? I got nothin'. (I even created my second character just to see if it was a glitch in the first.)

I had the same problem too, and created a new pirate! You need to earn enough cutlass reputation points to get the sweep ability. I would recommend practicing on something other then the dummies...

(Yes, I just found this place and had to register to answer this cause it was driving me crazy when i didn't know how to do it! I'll be sticking around though cause it's nice to know it's not just me who seems to run in place all the time! lol)

I ran into a swarm of wasps and dragonflies, which promptly kicked my pirate behind! I mean, I was down in like five seconds! I felt like such a dweeb!

Hi all! I am so glad to have found a PotC discussion! (Actually my friend LittleWoodenHead found you and told me )

I signed up months ago, and just got my beta key in an email a couple of days ago. (It was in my bulk/spam folder - check yours if you are waiting). As with all Disney online anythings, I used my existing account to sign in, no credit card needed.)

When I am in a 'private' area - the bar, the cannon-practice boat, the sword training, I am able to move well and all my radio buttons do okay. In public ares with any other players, I move maybe once every three minutes. Not quite frozen, but so much worse than what I would call lag! I imagine people whooshing past me in the game see me as though I were afk in VMK; eyes are blinking, but nobody's home.

I am appreciating the smallest hints here - i.e. the ESC butoon, how voodoo will work (once I find it!)

Has anyone had a typed in name approved? They have assigned me "Lefty", but I can't imagine they would not approve Jewel Truebones. (I hate hate hate thier choices of first names).

Hmmm I was wondering if you could tell me what the title was or who the proclaimed sender was of this email you found in your spam. Right now I have over 10K in spam and its making my eyes go crazy just looking to see if maybe just maybe.... hmmm Thanks!!

They are choosing randomly. I signed up 2 emails last week(figured it would give better odds of being chosen)...only one got the Beta key.

The email came from: pirates of the caribbean online<thecrew@pirates of the caribbean.com

Email was titled: Claim Your Beta Account!

Yup I'm signed up too! Unfortunately the game is soooo laggy right now I have to wait for my windows XP to arrive in the mail so I can use that instead of my 2000 lol.

I'm easy to find in the game when I'm on, just look for a guy named Joseph lol.

So, what about these crab things, can you kill them?

I have killed them by fighting them with regular sword swipes. make sure the red circle is arround them.
