Anyone else disappointed???? I love POTC and I especially love Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow...but I was actually bored during this one. I won't mention anything regarding the plot since I'm sure many haven't seen it yet but I found it all disappointing....

Everyone I have talked to thus far has said that it was fantastic. I read online that Johnny Depp actually refused to watch the last two movies and therefore took control over this one. I'd be surprised if it was boring.

I heard that too! Maybe I expected too much! With Johnny Depp having a say in the script I thought it would be different. I wanted to like it...I really did! Anyone else have opinion after seeing it?

It was just sad. Almost as bad as Indiana jones 4 or the Star Wars prequels. let's hope they stop now, before they get to be like Police academy movies.

in order of quality i would rate them............one, then two, then FOUR, then three............it was not bad..........i just think the blush is off the rose...........just loved the king in the beginning......and thank god for Barbossa.

I saw it this afternoon...bored pretty much describes how I felt. At one point I could have fallen asleep and I've never done that in a movie.

We saw it this afternoon too and the guy next to me did fall asleep, he was actually snoring!

That being said, I liked it. The first one is definitely the best, by far, but this one was pretty good, definitely better than three and a little better than two IMHO. A little too long though I will admit AND we sat through all the credits for the bit at the end. If they are going to make you sit through all the credits they should make the end bit a little longer if you ask me.

I have a question though....WHERE WAS JACK'S HAT????? This really bugged me and I found out my brother was wondering the same thing...in fact he told me to ask my crazy Disney friends about it.

The movie was at it's best when Sparrow and Barbossa were together. I didn't think Penelope Cruz had any chemistry with Depp. Really missed Regetti and Pentil!

The end of credits scene was a waste...lol...my kids were angry with me for having them wait so long for that.

They have already announced that they are working on number 5. I bet we might even see a 6th.

It could of been better. Lots of things went unexplained such as why that mermaid was different to the others and blackbeard having a magical sword and zombie henchmen.

If there is another how much will Depp get paid? The rumour is that he earned $55 million for this one.

I wrote a review for a friend of mine, this is EXACTLY what I said. I don't think the plot was as frim as it could have been. It was entertaining but did not wow me. On the other hand this could very well be a stand alone film and had I not seen the others I would not have missed Regetti and Pentil or wished to see more Barbossa and Sparrow interaction. I totally agree there was 0 chemistry with Depp and Cruz that part of it fell flat. I also expected more from the character of Blackbeard he didn't fit at all what I perceived him from the histories I've read.

I was fine with that. Their story had run its course there really wasn't any more to say. Though I liked their characters I was glad when I hear after the third that they would not be returning for this reason.

I agree, I really enjoyed this movie. Better than 3 def. It was just a little long, but I can deal with that.

I saw it yesterday afternoon and I thought I posted something, but I think the browser wasn't working. Anywho. We liked it. The Easter Egg at the end obviously left it open and yes 5&6 are in the works. I do not like Penelope Cruz at all
and almost didn't see it bc of her. I too did not like their story line and thought it could have been left out all together. I did like the interaction between Jack and Barbosa. I agree that it is not as good as the others, but I'll give Jerry Bruckheimer another chance.

I haven't seen it yet. But, this is what the review I saw on TV said, not as good as one or two but better than three.
