Potatoes are out, Noodles are in at 'Ohana now

One poster posted the bread pudding is going. But, the OP said, it was still there. Where is everyone getting that the bread pudding is gone? OP, did they tell you it was being phased out? Or is everyone assuming that, over what one previous poster posted?:confused3

According to our waitress, the bread pudding is staying. I really grilled her about everything too. She finally wanted to know why I was so curious about everything. I told her because my disboard buddies are going to want an extensive report when I get back:rotfl2:

guess we will have to wait for reports from the field about the bread pudding.

I haven't been to 'Ohana in quite some time. The noodles sound intriguing enough for a visit.

Gotta book a trip first, though. ;)

Just a small comment to all those who don't plan on going back now.

You all loved 'Ohanas before right? So give the new menu a chance! You guys should at least try it once.

Think about it. When the shrimp skewers were taken off, and the potatoes and new things added people absolutely hated it. But eventually they decided that they did like those things. Change is good. :goodvibes

I was really looking forward to this but everything now sounds sweet and sticky. I like that for my dessert but not my entire meal.

I'm all for change, but I just hope they keep the bread pudding as an option to dessert. We made the bread pudding last night for dessert and it was SO yummy!!! We will try the new menu b/c my DH loves the idea of the noodles (boo hiss:lmao:) and we both love the open fire pit meat skewers...guess I'm gonna live with the changes, but I will be sad - on the inside that is.

The only sweet things are the wings, bread and pasta which has a slightly sweet flavor. :confused3

I agree. Noodles with pineapple don't sound very good. We're still going to try it. I hope they surprise me and actually taste good. :goodvibes

I hope the new noodles are nothing like the new noodle dish at Kona that came out in Oct because that was loaded with pineapple and sicky sweet. I did not know the menu was tweeked so I ordered the dish thinking I would get savory lo mein not sweet and hardly sour lo mein.

Anyone know if the tastes are similar??

I don't eat shrimp or pineapple. The only reason I ever ate at O'hanas is because of the wontons, potatoes, and bread pudding. I guess I won't be returning anytime soon.

Hi
I'm disappointed with the new menu. I don't eat any meat, but loved the shrimp, potatoes and wonton chips. Some of us won't eat the noodles if they are made with beef broth. The pork and veggie dumplings sound good, but the pork ruins it for us. I always had plenty to eat before, but I don't know about eating there now. My DGD (5) loves all the entertainment at O'hana, so I guess we'll just keep our ADR for August. I'll be anxious to hear more reviews.

That's half the menu, if you count the meat as one thing. Too much for my taste. I just don't care much for sweet entrees and sides.

The only sweet things are the bread, wings and pasta. How is that half the menu? The meats are not sweet... :confused3

The pork is still on the skewers also.

The pork and veggie dumplings are indeed fried not steamed. We ate there 2 times 2 weeks ago and thye were fried both times. They taste nothing like the old shrimp wontons in my opinion. They are good, but just good.

SOUNDS SWEET? - Asian Barbecue Pork Loin

SWEET - 'Ohana bread pudding a la mode with Bananas Foster Sauce

I've not eaten there (yet), but from the menu descriptions, it looks like you either eat meat or something sweet.

Pineapple and red pepper in noodles!
That's like torture for me!
I love lo mein but I cannot stand red peppers what so ever and I think pineapples are more disgusting.
This really furthers my disliking in Ohana's new menu.
I have eaten here 31 times in my 22 years and never miss it on a trip.
Needless to say, it's NOT a part of my 14 TS credits this September because I'm definitely a believer in things not needing to be fixed if they aren't broken.

no potatoes and possibly no bread pudding!!! - I know I'm sad but they were the only two things I really fancied!!!:lmao:

Will be cancelling dinner at 6.30pm on Sun May 18th (table for 4) if anyone is interested??!!:confused3 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

The changes sound great to me, except maybe for the dumplings.

Yeah that's a lot of pineapple. Then again it is supposed to be a Polynesian-themed restaurant. :rolleyes1
Why would go to a Polynesian-themed restaurant to eat potatoes and bread pudding ?? That's like going to Marrakesh and eating BBQ ribs. There are enough places in WDW for the meat-and-potatoes lovers (and we'll be going to several of them too). It's nice to have a place with a little more exotic food.

Hopefully, if that menu makes 'Ohana less popular the service will improve as well.

Me too! And the wontons, they were surprisingly VERY good! Shizzy, I'm so mad they changed so much. It's a bit ridiculous. You can count me out forever now.

Concourse Steakhouse closes in a few months also?

WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO ME?
