Do you prefer yours more vinegary or sweet?

My mom always made hers so sweet it tastes like she put a pound of sugar in it. My husband makes it with lots of vinegar, and I far prefer that.

This is our favorite recipe - I add green onions and a can of green chilis. Gives it a zing you don't get otherwise.

My potato salad is PA dutch in nature. I use potatoes, eggs, mayo, scallions & green pepper.

I voted "other." I never put sugar or vinegar either one in my potato salad! Never heard of making it with either of those before.

Mine consists of potatoes, chopped hard boiled eggs, cucumber, green pepper, onion, mustard and mayo, salt and pepper. That's about it.

I guess mine would be more toward the vinegar side, but only because I use yellow mustard in it. I know that when miracle whip is used instead of regular mayo, it does tend to make it sweet. I hate miracle whip.

I use potatoes (yukon golds are my fav)
hard boiled eggs
green onion
mayo
yellow mustard
salt and pepper

I like it pretty simple, with no large crunchy chunks.

Same here, but I add finely chopped (food processor) onions. No mayo here though, it's gotta be, Miracle Whip. Yes, I know that's swearing around here.

I have never put sugar in my potato salad, but to be honest, other than Deli potato salad, to quote Paula Deen, I have never met a tator I didn't love! I just don't like deli potato salad because no matter what kind it is, it always has an off taste to it.
