Yay it came today!!! So far I love it!!!! I am happy I went with The Kindle Fire.

So have you checked to see how many apps you can download yet? I read that the websight doesn't show many.But it said when you connect it to the web you will be able to find the angry birds ecton the fire, just not on the websight while on the computer. I am thinking about getting themfor my boys, but they have ipods and i want them to have lots of apps and games to choose from. Can you download other android apps? Thanks Mum

I did go to the store to look at apps and there seems to be a lot. I will check it out again..and pay closer attention. I will report back.

Okay taking a quick look...there are 100 paid apps...100 free and a 100 top rated. Does that help?

If you click on Must Have Apps you can find all three versions of Angry Birds.

I'm thinking about these for my kids...a couple of questions you may be able to answer.

Can you watch streaming netflix? I heard tell that there was an app to allow that to happen.

Is there the option of parental controls for the internet? My son is 13 and I want "porn prevention".

I had to send my Fire back . After the software upgrade, it would get stuck on the Kindle Fire page and not move.

Support was great and did everything he could to try to fix it.

New one should arrive on Saturday!

As long as both devices are on the same amazon account then you can share content just like with the eink Kindles.

I have heard that only 2 devices can use Amazon Prime instant videos at the same time and they can not be watching the same video. As long as you don't have 3 devices trying to use instant video at the exact same time then you should be fine.

Don't know much about these but would love to have one. With the Kindle fire do you need to pay a monthly fee for the internet or does it use just WiFi hot spots or WiFi from your house? My son has an IPOD and it just uses WIFi is the Kindel Fire like that?

Yes the Kindle Fire is Wi-Fi only. I love that has amazon prime.

Some of the reviews I've read put the Nook ahead technically (battery life, memory expansion, etc.), but I think the Amazon Prime link is going to out weigh it all.

Sort of like the beta/vhs. Of course everything will be obsolute in a few years (or months) anyway.

My husband suprised me with a Kindle Fire for my birthday!! My only complaint so far is where the power button is located. I have turned it off several times on accident.
