Posting for New Members

Sorry, this is probably not the proper place to post this message, but I couldn't find anything else closer. A friend just signed up for the board as a new member but still can't post anything. He never got an e-mail for confirmation. Any idea how long the process takes? It's been so long I can't remember the process I went through. Thanks!
