I wanted to send a bunch of postcards from my resort (Pop Century), but I'm not sure they even do that. If they do, how much do postcards and stamps cost?

Pretty sure stamp prices are universal, so whatever they are at now at a Post Office. We just brought some from home to send postcards to relatives, so I don't know if they sell stamps at the resort. But they sell cigarettes so I don't see why they wouldn't have stamps. But I would bring some from home just in case. Prices of the postcards vary, depending if you get a simple one or a more 'lavish' one. I know they have places to drop off postcards but I'm not sure where, maybe another person can be more informative.

I wish I could remember how much the postcards were because I thought they were expensive. At check out, I took the postcards off our bill then went back to the rack and found the cheapest. Our friends and family don't need a $1 postcard (plus a stamp). In the past, I have bought postcards for our scrapbook.

Just check the price before you get in line.

I'm glad I can bring my own stamps! That's a shame that the postcards are pricey, though. I wanted to send a bunch to my friends. :(

You can purchase stamps from any cashier in the gift shop & there is a mailbox to deposit them in right by the front entrance to POP, by the pay phones.

Good to know, thank you!

Just how exspensive are the postcards, though? Are they more than a dollar each?

There are many different types of postcards for sale (some with fancy cut-outs that are probably $4-$5 each). The cheapest ones are definitely $1 or more.

They have some postcard "sets" though....you can get like a half-dozen postcards for $5.00 I think. Someone who is more sure than I am will probably come along & let you know. But definitely look for the "sets"...they will be your best deal.

If you get one of the sets they are a little cheaper, and it's ten times easier to bring your own stamps--then you can mail the postcards in one of the neat vintage mailboxes on Main St. in the Magic Kingdom (yep they work). My sister always mails a card to herself from each trip so that it's cancelled and puts it in the front of her album before her pictures start (kind of like breaking up her Disney chapters). I always thought it was a nice touch.

Maybe a gift shop at the MCO airport has postcards for less.

Check with your post office to get some stamps - maybe the normal postage rate for standard letters may work for all sizes of postcard.
After paying for WDW, I do not have a problem paying another few dollars.:goodvibes

I would also pre-write your family and friends addresses on small white self sticking labels to make your postcard writing easy.:goodvibes

I also take a post card or two along with me to the parks.
As our family waits for our ADR, I write out 1 or 2 postcards.
More time then spent on each postcard with more thoughts and personalization.
If I wrote all 10 postcards at once - I would not be as thoughtful.
Just my 2 cents.

I don't really remember for sure how much I paid for postcards, but I'm thinkin they were about $2 each. I'd bring stamps if I were you, though. It took me forever to find a place with stamps because they were all out! I finally found some in a little shop at the Boardwalk. I forgot to drop them off at my resort, but spotted a box inside MK to drop them in, and they were delivered to my Mama and Daddy about 2 days later :)

I purchased postcards and stamps from the giftshop at POP in January, and mailed them from POP. Just be warned that they may take a long time to arrive at their destination! I mailed 6 postcards, and they all arrived at different times, some weeks later!

I just found an application for my Android phone. It is called Touchnote. You can send your own picture as a post card $1.49 including postage(1st one is free!) and it goes to a physical address, not email. I have not tried it yet but will try it before our trip with the free one and check the quality before sending them from Disney.
I have not checked to see if it is available for the iPhone, but there may be something out there if you have the iPhone.
Has anyone out there used this?

Barb

I just got back and I got a set of 10 Magic Kingdom postcards (there were also sets for the other parks) for $5.95. Also, different resorts/gift shops sell different postcards, so if you're not impressed with the selection at one place, wait until you look in another shop.

^ Do you happen to remember what store you got the set? XD I was trying to find postcards in the online Disney store, but with no luck.

Really? How strange. We posted them on the first day of our stay and they were all at their mail address before we flew home over the ocean. It took only four days for them to arrive in Europe. Granted we did not post them ourselves but just handed them over at the concierge desk. They take care of the stamps and getting them into the mail.

Can you *get* mail at a resort? It's our 15th anniversery and I was thinking of mailing a card to my DH so that he would get it during our stay.

If you can, how would one go about it?

Thanks for any info ^_^
