I've heard the postcards in the park are very expensive. Since I usually buy a lot of them (for mailing and for scrapbooking), where would be the best place to get DL postcards? Airport? Hotel? Do the local grocery stores sell them? (We aren't going to have a car during our stay, so won't be able to go too far offsite.)

Thanks!

I let my boys pick one each time we go, trace their hands and then send it home to them. We also send grandma's and grandpa's some from Disneyland. They cost at the park 0.40-1.00 I don't think they are badly priced. I did see some at Wal Mart there. I am not sure how much they are though. There is a little store across from Disneyland on Harbor by McDonalds. I think it is in the Carosel hotel? They might have some. I just have not looked any other place. It wasn't worth dragging my boys there when they wanted to go on rides.

Oh, the price you mentioned isn't bad at all. I like the handprint idea and may have to do that for my kids.

This may not apply everywhere, but we were unable to find postcards outside the park that mentioned the word "Disneyland". It might be a copyright issue, but they used words like "Anaheim" instead.

To get proper Disney cards, it appeared (to us at least) you had to buy them inside the parks or at official Disney outlets.

You're right, that price isn't bad. I had heard $1 and up, which is a bit steep when you buy 20 - 30! But at least in the park, the selection will perhaps be better. I like to get ones of things we've enjoyed or things I couldn't get a decent photo of. Thank you!

The ones that were the most expensive were the ones that had 50th anniversary on them. They did have a few that were not so fancy with it, but these were "all out" postcards. I figured this happens once. I think I spent $1.50 on those. I only got them for my children though. Everyone else got the standard "Disneyland" ones.

Postcards are expensive in the park. I just bought them at the store in the hotel. They were much cheaper.

I just got back from Disneyland and here were the prices for postcards:

Standard Disney postcard (no 50th on them)- 50 cents
Packet of 12 Standard Disney Postcard- $4.00

50th postcards - range from $1.00 to $2.00
Packet of 12 50th postcards- $5.00

They also had some coloring postcards with a packet of crayons for kids 12 for $5.00

At the hotel where we stayed postcards were $1.10 and they did not say Disneyland on them. They had the cities on them.

FYI

PS- we had a lot of fun there. party:

Thank you so much for posting the prices!

Were the offsite 'city name' ones still showing Disney sites, like the castle or rides, etc.?

Yes, they still showed scenes from Disneyland, but just did not say Disneyland on them.

We like to get postcards of the area and we get these at either the 7/11 store at the Harbor/Katella junction and theres also a little gift shop over the road from there (next to the Hansa House) that we use for phone cards, postcards, sweatshirts, t-shirts and little Disney gifts, it is a lovely little shop and very low prices as well.
Love Ella
