I think some of the people need to change their 2005 to 2006.
VMK "beta" testing started May 23, 2005.

So if they were signing up in February or March, it had to be this year,
not last year.

Lori, it is POSSIBLE some of them signed up earlier - the Alpha was up for a month (I think) before the beta started. And the date you mention was the day Beta ended I believe as well, because I started in May and was on for a couple of days and then Day 1 came about.

Actually beta ended in June. It started on the date Briar mentioned.

you are right, I looked it up on Wiki beta started may 23 and ended on June 27 with a full release.

I've been playing since May 2005, a little after opening. Now I know you are all saying "wait, Cap doesn't have a day 1 badge on him", but In fact, i do on another character named DanoDano, if you don't believe me, i can show you lol. Not long after VMK opened, i decided to start a new character because the pirate codes were messed up and i had two buried in treasures. I wanted the pirate suit magic, so i started a new character when the codes were fixed.. of course that's when the pirate magics were cool.. but yea, that's my little narrative for the day.

I have a tree star Pirate because when they fixed it, they were tradable for about a day!

August 2005 for me... but That was in the parks and when I returned home I had to wait until October for Comcast

Grumpydad was born in early April 2005 (yes he has a Day 1 stamp on his bottom and is he is an unknown alpha) but i did not really start playing VMK until July of 06 when grumpy_guy the beloved gnome came into existence

I started in early June of 2005 but did not find these boards until much later! It is funny to remember how small it was then, yet it seemed confusing and like there was a lot to learn!
