I'm going Sep 7th-12th. I've been debating on waiting or calling. I was also staying at All Stars. Maybe I'll call tomorrow and have the same luck.

I just tried four different phone numbers and all of my calls failed... I think I’ll try again tomorrow.

If you are going to change your dates just do this with whatever cast member you get when calling through to reservations. If you are calling in because your resort is not open, you might have to ask for guest services.

I had a moderate booked from July 24-29, but no moderates will be opening up until July 29th. I explained that I kind of wanted something else besides pop (knowing that was a value resort)

After a total of 5 hours on hold today between reservations and guest services I was moved to the contemporary with no additional charge.

again this is if you’re not changing your dates or modifying your package and no equivalent resorts are open.

fwiw, I was given quite a few choices; BayLake 2bdrm, TreeHouse, Kidani 2bdrm, Boulder Ridge 2bdrm, Copper Creek 2bdrm and Riviera 2bdrm. I choose Riviera because I needed at least 5 beds, and Riviera doesn't have sofa beds.

Another POR person moved to okw! A little jealous over here lol. We got moved from POR to CB... didn't have a royal room though. GUessing they moved people with royal rooms to Deluxe resorts?

I must have had a extra large sprinkle of pixie dust today because I called the direct number and got through on the second try. Waited on hold for 3 mins and someone picked up. Total phone call time 10 mins. I hope everyone has good luck and is able to change there resort!

Another POR person moved to okw! A little jealous over here lol. We got moved from POR to CB... didn't have a royal room though. GUessing they moved people with royal rooms to Deluxe resorts?

I had a Royal Room Garden/Woods View (whatever they renamed them a while back). I was initially offered a Wilderness Cabin and simply asked, politely, if there were any other no-cost options. I simply stated that while I greatly appreciated them being able to even offer a move of any kind, that this was our first ever resort stay, (third park visit) and we had booked POR in a Royal Room as both my wife and daughter are big Princess and the Frog fans. We will also be celebrating our 14th anniversary in the middle of the trip. When I stated that while the Wilderness Cabin would suit our needs, I am a bigger guy (6'2", 240) and my wife wouldn't be too keen on sharing a double bed and that I also live in the woods in MN and we were trying to "get away" for our vacation and enjoy a different view.

She asked, of the resorts that were scheduled to be open, what I would like to "upgrade" to and she would "get me the best rate possible". I said that I'd love a 2 bedroom in Riviera at no cost (*insert corny dad humor laughing*). She said she didn't think that would be no cost but she would see if there was something that would be special. She came back with OKW 1-bd. I accepted. It's a great upgrade and I'm happy they were able to offer.

I don't have advice. I simply told her the truth, was polite, asked about how her day/week had been going, and crossed my fingers.

I shared this in another thread...

- As of 6/23, our resort does not have an announced scheduled opening date
- As of 6/23, no changes have been made to our existing reservation, and nothing has been offered or recommended

- We were originally told by our TA on 6/20 that only DVC resorts would be opening this year, and we would be moved to a DVC resort on 6/22 at no cost to us (unless we specifically request a certain resort, in which case we would be responsible for the price difference). She said this info came direct from Disney, and she had gone through a 1.5 hour training on it.

- On 6/21, we (us and our TA) found out several resorts would be opening throughout the rest of the year, but no info about POFQ yet. It is also suspected that, should POFQ not open by 12/1, we will have to modify our reservation to another resort, or cancel completely; should we modify, we might be responsible for the difference in rate.

- Our TA is unsure of our options as of now and has suggested we just wait to attempt or accept any changes until closer to our trip. Our reservation is currently up in the air.
