This is actually a pic from Sep 06. (This is my first time posting a pic!) Sorry it's blurry. This was my favorite dessert of the entire trip! I went back another day and got it again. It was so good! It looks very much like the one people got from the Brown Derby, so I suspect it might be the same thing. Does anyone know if Starring Rolls still has this dessert?

Do I even need to say that all 3 of my kids loved these?

1/2 liter of beer - I wish I could remember what kind!

IM000088-1.jpg

Potato soup (very good), cucumber salad, beef, chicken, roasted potatoes and a tossed salad with ranch dressing

IM000089-1.jpg

Pretzel bread, white bread, mac and cheese, sausage (like bologna), salad, and breaded pork (schnitzel?)

We really liked it here. The food was consistantly good, the entertainment was great, they had a table for 10, which we were, and the wait staff was friendly and efficient.
No pics of dessert. The strudle was ok, but the cheesecake was awesome!

you've seen it a thousand times, so what's one more?

tonga toast a kona cafe. double yum.

This was one of those "double yummo" desserts!

Being from Germany, I am always glad when people like "my" food! However, The glas you took a picture of looks much more like one liter of beer (a bit over two pints!). I am sorry that I can't tell you what type of beer it is, but at least it looks like the right kind for this type of glas! :)

This was one of the best counter service restaurants! We ate here twice this trip. The food is so good that we kept forgetting to get pictures.

Sorry the ribs were just to good to wait for the camera. I did not care for the beans, as they were too sweet. The rest of the family would not even try the beans.

Chocolate cake. Standard Disney pre packaged cake. Not bad,but nothing special.

100_4370.jpg
We used a snack credit to add onion rings to our order on our second visit. They were very good.

Cold & Tart! Refreshing, but we were really to full to enjoy. I got the key lime pie both times. It was good! Some how we didn't get a picture. The pie is served on a plate, not packaged like the cake.

Below are a few pictures of the outdoor seating for Flame Tree. It was very hot while we were there, but the shady seating areas were fairly comfortable. Don't let the outside seating keep you from enjoying this restaurant.

DH has already warned me that if I want pics of his food, I better have the camera ready as they sit his plate down cause he isn't waiting!

my DH said the same thing at the beginning of the trip, but by the end he was angling the plates for me so i'd get a better picture!

pugcrazy, we ate at Flame Tree a few times this last trip too and not just because it was one of the few CS restaurants around AK.

I saw someone else get the Fruit Platter with honey yogurt and ordered it too. I plan to post a picture when I get around to downloading my lastest. We just got back. It was a full platter of large chunks and beautifully arranged fruit for only $6. I plan to get it next trip as well when I am paying OP.

We learned to sit down next to the water where the birds would not disturb us cause they do not like the local alligator in the water.

One day we were surprised by a boatload of characters that were going around the lake.

Altogether very delightful. I do not think many folks know about all the hidden seating down in back and might bypass this place.

We were chosen to open the restaurant one day. We were the only folks in line even though I had tried to tell others that it was worth waiting a few minutes for.

Gotta love those onion rings!!

Slightly Goofy

This was DD14 favorite resaurant. DH & I both rated it second, just barely behind Le Cellier. I apologize in advanced, as I took most of these photos & I am NOT the photographer in the family. Hopefully some of these will convey just how good this experience was!

The Ginger Carrot Soup sounded interesting so I got a bowl. I had to go back for seconds. It was unusual, but great!

The Prime Rib paired with Boma's Special Mustard was the best I have ever eaten.

I had been told to ask if Chef TJ was working. Chef TJ was not there this evening, but our wonderful waiter Jeff made sure that we received their special dessert. Fried Oreos.

All my family could say was WOW!

This is a must do for our next trip!

Kona Seafood Chowder....so yummy I could have eaten just this for dinner.

Teriyaki steak - The steak was tough and fatty. I wasn't impressed with this at all.

Kona Cone - this was awesome!

We love Kona cafe! We go at least once a trip. It doesn't feel like we are at WDW without it. Try their ceasar salad. It is my favorite anywhere.

Rose and Crown

We were really looking forward to this meal, and it lived up to most of our expectations. Unfortunately, we had eaten a big lunch that we had not worked off, and none of us were really all that hungry. :sad2:

DH ranks this as his best meal, with Le Cellier a tight second.

My steak was rather stringy, or cheap tasting. It was not BAD, but it in no way compared to the Filet I had at L C. Tasted over-cooked, but wasn't. Tasted like I cooked it! LOL
The fish was awesome and HUGE!
Didn't take pics of appetizers. Highly recommend the Potato soup.

The bar. Love all the dark wood accents.

IMG_0555.jpg

The illustrious STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING, which lived up to it's reputation of good eats. We split one and took one to go. :)

IMG_0557.jpg

We'd like to go back when we aren't so stuffed. DH deemed his Black and Tan the best beer of the trip. :thumbsup2
Fun, noisy atmosphere, and apparently your experience here, as with many of the other WDW restaurants, largely depends on your waiter.

We had Andrew from Scotland, who was training, and he was excellent.

DisneyMom5, we ate at the Rose & Crown twice. The first time I had the bangers and mash but it was one of those days when I was really sick and could not eat. Tom had a pork loin dinner that looked lovely and surely dispell my impression of bad English cooking. It had mashed sweet potatoes and some sort of light green sauce. The desserts, including the Sticky Toffee, did not appeal but that might have just been me. I greatly enjoyed the fruit and cheese appetizer both times and would just order that when we return.

Thanks for the great pictures. I will post some when I get a chance to take a breath or two.

SG/Linda
