DisneyMom5, we ate at the Rose & Crown twice. The first time I had the bangers and mash but it was one of those days when I was really sick and could not eat. Tom had a pork loin dinner that looked lovely and surely dispell my impression of bad English cooking. It had mashed sweet potatoes and some sort of light green sauce. The desserts, including the Sticky Toffee, did not appeal but that might have just been me. I greatly enjoyed the fruit and cheese appetizer both times and would just order that when we return.

Thanks for the great pictures. I will post some when I get a chance to take a breath or two.

SG/Linda

I don't recall the pork loin, because all of us adult portion people only had eyes for the fish. The sausage was a little spiced for my taste. But the kids thought it was ok. Like I said, none of us had big appetites. Shame, isn't it?

Now that I am sick and don't feel like cooking, I keep thinking of all of that lovely food going to waste. Sigh. Do you think Rose and Crown delivers to Michigan? LOL

Oh my gosh! Thanks for the picture of the Sticky Toffee Pudding :thumbsup2 Even though we are not eatting at the Rose & Crown for our upcoming trip. I plan on stopping and asking for a "To Go" box with this dessert. Thanks again :)

anybody got a pic of the wood grilled tuna from the mama melrose lunch menu? i looked on the categorized pic thread and didn't see it. i'm curious about it!

DisneyMom5, in my long and varied life I have found that there is little you cannot do as long as you are willing part with large sums of money. That being said, it might be wise to just book another trip and eat your food at R&C personally.

I plan to have my fruit and cheese platter for my meal there and to have just a bowl of the butternut squash soup at Puck's along with the fantastic fruit platter at Flame Tree.

Gee, here I go planning what I am going to eat in December!!:cool1:

Here are our counter service meals from our trip in September.

Our first lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express - Steak sandwich on pita bread, homemade chips, had to try the butternut soup (just okay), and creme brulee for dessert. So much food it wasn't even funny!

Second trip to Wolfgang Puck Express - Pepperoni and Mushroom pizza (very good) with a cookie for dessert

This is the wood grilled shrimp dish which, as I recall, was pretty much the same as the wood grilled just, well....shrimp. I thought it was delicious as did my DD and DH. It had a really nice sauce on the pasta but the shrimp was perfectly grilled. Making me hungry just thinking about it...

thanks so much! i think this is a little different from the tuna, although it looks and sounds very yummy. here are the descriptions from allearsnet.com:

Wood-grilled Shrimp over pipette pasta tossed with artichokes, peas, peppers, sweet onions in a basil and four cheese cream sauce $17.99

Wood Grilled Tuna basted with a sun-dried tomato pesto over grilled asparagus, zucchini, and yellow squash with light tomato broth $15.99

i'm curious about the "light tomato broth."

In very elementary terms can someone please tell me how to post pictures? Thanks!

Whoops, sorry about that. Guess my memory got a little carried away!! The shrimp was fantastic so I am sure the same would be true for the tuna.

Isn't it so crazy to be deciding what you are going to want to eat for dinner for months ahead of time??? AND at what time??? :rolleyes1

Not only had I pre-determined what I would order for each meal, but I had my DH's meals decided and presented him with a PowerPoint "menu" with photos of what I anticipated he would order??? Only Disney could do this to people!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I thought having a spreadsheet was over the top! But PowerPoint menus?? Wow! That really appeals to the OCD in me!:goodvibes

It was really different....can't say that I really enjoyed it though. It kind of tasted like warm mushy cheese with the fried stuff on the outside. Personally, I would rather have a good old regular piece of cheesecake.

Crazy huh. I was trying to "lure" DH into certain restaurants he might not be inclined to try. So as I came across something that would appeal to him, I just copied and pasted the photo so he could scroll through. That way, when I said "we are eating at ..." he would be able to visualize it. Partly I'm trying to get him to obsess like me, but it didn't work so well. He just thought I was wacked too! :rotfl2:

Here are some I took at the Nine Dragons restaurant in Epcot...

General Tso's Chicken

Appetizer For Two (just guessing on the name...)
