Cant wait for this yrs party.

We went for the 1st time in 2010
DH peter pan,I really loved Dh in this I designed his outfit,to look exactly like the Disney character,My mum made boot covers sword belt holder we went to a shop and founf dark green dance leggings that was pefect "yep DH agreed to wear them" and we made him little velvet shorts to go over them (had to protect eyes):lmao: we then sprayed his dark hair orange and added the hat we made!
Hook refused to have a picture with him and they had a little sword fight! Hook then took me for a walk where he kissed my hand then turned to Dh and made a heart withhis hook and hand to say he loved me HAHAHA my boys was going crazy!! plus he had lots of little boys and girls follow him around.

ME tinkerbell...I designed it and my DM made it,we even covered ballet shoes in the green velvet to match my dress :) im 5ft size 8 and blonde! i brought a clip in fringe and put my hair up like Tink does and since i was with DH we ended up being asked to have lots of pics taken with little kids!

Our 3 DS went as lost boys, they was so cute my mum made them hats to look like animal skin with tails hanging down to complete their outfits along with boot covers.they got loads of compliments.

This year Im stuck with what to go as.

Im thinking
Me: Either Cinderella in her Pink dress as ive always wanted to make this dress, Alice in wonderland OR the Blue fairy from Pinocchio! I now have very long blonde hair,BUT last yr dyed it Ariel red and may go back to that and go as Ariel in her blue dress!

DH; Im trying to get him to go in his Captain Jack outfit we had made him for our twin sons Pirate party as i spent a long time on the wig! And its a fab outfit by the time i glue the face hair on :rotfl2:

Oldest DS in going as a Ghost buster.
Twin 1 is going as a Mickey Buster "Ghost buster but with a Mickey designed slimer as the logo instead on the traditional one"

Twin2 Hopefully going as Slimer..but really wants to go as either Avatar or a wrestler.

Sooo excited!!!

The last of our costumes arrived yesterday!!! DS1 is going as tron, DS2 some sort of ninja (I quit trying to cordinate them years ago) and Dh and I are going as Cinderella and Prince Charming. Do I have the bestest DH or what???? He humors me every year on the cordinated costumes.

Are there rules for costumes?
IOW, is there anything Disney would refuse at the gate?

We are contemplating something that would be over our heads/faces, but we would still totally be able to see.
Would that be ok, or is there a rule against over-the-head costumes?

Here are the rules I found....

Halloween costumes should NOT:
•Obstruct the guest's view or interfere with their ability to board/unload from attractions and/or the Walt Disney World Resort transportation system (including monorails, ferry boats and motorcoaches).
•Drag on the ground.
•Contain sharp or pointed objects or material that may accidentally stike another guest.
•Be offensive to other guests.
•Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

Was also mentioned... no masks that cover your whole face but I would assume that would be covered in rule number 1.

I guess if your costume doesn't cover your whole head, or obstruct your vision you should be ok

Thanks for replying.
Can you please post the link for where you found the info so I can read all of it?

My hubby is not a "costume" guy, but I am trying to convince him to go as Shaggy and I would be Velma (from scooby doo). I am going to try to convince my daughter to be Daphne. He's not going for it. Really? All you have to wear is a green v-neck t-shirt and some dark brown pants!! :crazy2:

Last year I was Velma, DH Freddy, DS Shaggy, and DD Scooby. It was so much fun dressing as a group!

This year DS is going to be a leprechaun and daughter will be a rainbow. I don't know what DH and I will be. One could be a pot of gold, but I'm not sure what our fourth costume should be....

HAHA - I just saw this comment.

Outside of maybe a dozen Guests most just gave us weird looks. I'm guessing we'll get a similar reaction to our costumes this year as well. :rotfl:

We submitted this photo of our costumes to the Cast Member photo costume contest and won!

Yzma and Kronk! Amazing! Love the roller coaster-secret lab look!

I'm going back and forth! I have so many costumes already, but Halloween is like my Christmas, so... I can't decide. I'm only going to one MNSSHP, so it's got to be good! I want to go either as one of the Avengers, or Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games. Either way, I think I might boil, since I'm going in September and I can't seem to plan a cool (temp. wise) costume.

The last time we went, my little sister dressed up as Nala. (We are 20 yrs apart) I hadnt dressed up for halloween in ages but she begged me so I just threw on some khaki safari type garb and wore one of those plush minnie ear safari hats.
This year she will be Lilo so my mother and I will just go with the hawaiian theme..or we will wear halloween tshirts depending on how manipulative my sister is LOL

i'm going as belle. i bought the tea leighth dress and light weight gloves and low heeled shoes. I'm also having a pre birthday dinner at the castle before the party at five fifteen i was told that i could wear the dress to dinner. I will be getting a tiara from the castle

Our crew is going as: 3 Incredibles (me, DH, and DD15), Alice (DD13), Mike Wazowski (DS11), and DD's bestie is going as Buzz Lightyear and yes, she's a girl. :thumbsup2

This will be our first MNSSHP and were so excited!

Love the pic... for some reason couldn't figure out who everyone was as I scrolled down until I saw scooby... then it all clicked... lol

Why not do something with Lucky Charms? I always think of that cereal when I think of Leprechauns... :shamrock:

I would love to surprise my DH with costumes for MNSSHP, and his favorite thing lately is Percy Jackson. Any ideas?

I was thinking maybe camp half blood shirts, but any ideas on expanding this?

TIA!

We are doing another family theme this year. Last time we were all spiderman. This year DH is going to be Mr. Smee, I'm going to be Captain Hook, DD6 is going to be Jake, and DD1 is going to be Izzy. I'm excited! Love dressing up for the halloween party!!

I've wanted to do a family theme the last 2 times we've gone but this year I am finally successful in getting everyone to agree...including my sister! We are going with an Alice in Wonderland ( Or is it Underland? :) ) theme. Sis is QOH, myself WQ, DH is MH, and the kids r Alice, Cheshire, KOH, Card, and Catapiller. Can't wait!

I wanted is to be a themed family (I never get that kind of fun) but I was limited by my autistic son who will not wear ANYTHING but his Mickey Mouse costume. Heck, he won't wear clothes that don't have Mickey Mouse on them anymore. Hey, it could be worse! :rolleyes1 So I was trying to think of what to do to keep us in theme, but different from what we're likely to see. Being different is something I love.

Got it!
Fantasia themed.
I'm the white pegasus, my DH is the black, my oldest DS loves studying mushrooms (Yes, he really does, and trees) so he'll be the dancing asian mushroom and my youngest, the one that HAS to be Mickey, will be the Sorcerer's apprentice Mickey. :hyper: I'm half way done w/ the costumes now. And no, I don't sew, not one stitch (on a machine that is). I'm excited! Traveling w/ the wings and the mushroom cap will be...interesting.:cool2:

* bolded for easier skimming reading. ;)

I was the Pink Power Ranger

http://www.80stees.com/ has the best costume t-shirts, which is perfect for the weather and parks. I wore jeans and sneakers with my pink shirt and had pink makeup on.

I was there last year. Don't wear heels (yes I saw that), or anything thick or not-breathable. Don't wear skimpy; I know it seems like it won't be as hot, but skimpy leads to chaffing, because of extensive walking/moving around and humid weather. don't wear cheap flats, causes blisters.

My makeup was waterproof, by Makeup Forever, their Aqua line. People asked me all night about what I was wearning, since it doesn't look clownish, but it boy it was stuck on...:goodvibes It works well if youre riding splash mountain.

For those who have been before - DH was thinking about going as a vampire & I am tempted to do same - do Disney have any objections to costumes like that or are they deemed too scary?

We wont terrorise any children obviously . . . . . . .unless they are misbehaving (I need a mwahahahahahaaaaaaaa smiley here!)

I had a cool idea (at least I thought it was cool) to go as Hunger Games tributes. It would just be t-shirts/vest tops with "district 5" etc on and dark combats. But no, I was vetoed and we're going with a Stitch theme.

Don't wear heels (yes I saw that

I whole heartedly agree-NO HEELS!!!! I did the pirate thing with boots that I can work in all day and be fine in-I was almost in tears by the end of the night. DH looked at me and said-Hey look villians with no lines and I remember saying no because it was on the other side of the hub. You have no idea how much cobblestone/textured ground there is inside of MK and that stuff hurts after a while

We were gunna be you story characters until my best friend backed out cuz she couldn't find a way to do a cool buzz costume, so now we ate a mix of Disney characters my DD is still gunna be Jessie, I think I'm gunna be cinderella but in her "work" clothes, and the BFF is gunna be Pocahontas ..
