Post your funniest story from a Disney Cruise!

I was in the theater before that night's show was about to start and this father and his son were sitting right behind me. This was the conversation:

Dad: "Here."
Son: "Dad! Mom said no more sugar."
Dad: "There's no sugar in Skittles."

:rotfl2:

OMG! This sounds exactly like something my DH would say. I am scared to ask what cruise this was on in fear that it was my hubby! LOL

For our last cruise I had packed all my children's suitcases a full 3 weeks in advance:woohoo:. All goes well, we get to the port, board the Magic, head up to parrot cay for a yummy first day lunch, then head out to let the kids swim..we had them wear their suits under their cloths. An hour later our cabin is finally available:banana:..go inside to unpack....look up to find 2 booty butt naked twin boys  I was like "Boys..why are you naked"? They were like we are wet from swimming and are going to put on some shorts/shirts. I said "well, don't forget to put on your underware first". They were like "We can't.....we left it all at home" :scared1: "You WHAT"?? "Yes" they said.."we needed room for all of our toys that YOU forgot to pack"!!! :rolleyes1 Sure enough I open their suitcases and it is OVER FLOWING with action figures, stuffed animals, leggos, etc... So I tell DH that I need to run down to Mickeys Mates to look for underware "NO not for me...:headache:gggrrrrrr...ASK your boys". Well, I ended up with the last laugh :rotfl2:because when I looked for replacement underware, I couldn't find any...so I asked one of the Cm's who kindly told me they were 100% out of little boys underware...BUT they did have some REALLY cute Princess Panties. :rotfl: Boy were my boys UPSET I was like.."Hey you can't wear leggos, but you can were Belle" :lmao: Between you and me..I took a photo...Just to use as a bribe later when they are teenagers. :goodvibes

Hysterical! I can just picture the boys tossing all their clothes out of the luggage and packing those toys in the suitcases. :rotfl::rotfl: What a great story! I love that you took their picture - what a great picture to share at their rehearsal dinner. :rotfl2:

Thank you for sharing!

This is too good! :rotfl2: Just read it to my boys - the youngest said he'd go without first :lmao:.

I have one!

We were on our first DCL cruise back in January and it was our first day at sea. We slept in a bit, so we quickly showered, dressed, left our room with wet hair & grabbed a couple of croissants to eat by the pool.
My daughter decided she wanted to go to the kids club and see what was going on, and I was happy to take my book to the adult area and read for a while.
I was reading and for some reason kept feeling like people were looking at me oddly. I am not a 'thin' person and thought maybe they were laughing at the fat lady in a swim coverup by the pool (kinda self conscious that way - but I was not the only overweight person at the pool!). I was feeling awkward so I got up and decided to start heading back to the room for a bit. The wind blew my hair into my face and I wiped it back off my face, and was wondering why my hair felt kinda slimy and sticky, and still a bit wet (this was over 1.5 hours after I showered!).
I quickly went into a washroom and looked in a mirror....
I had forgotten to rinse my conditioner out in the shower!!!! I had globs of white in my hair. I had brushed my hair when I got out of the shower, and we were racing out to go have fun, and I didn't even notice. As my hair dried, it looked like a big STICKY GLOBBY mess - some white globs here and there, and the rest just looked like greasy stringy hair and like i had not washed it in weeks!
I wanted to die!! I RAN back to our room to rinse it, and wouldn't you know it - our steward was in there cleaning! I quickly locked myself in the bathroom and hopped in the shower!

I was so embarrassed and constantly wondering if people were pointing and saying 'there's that woman who doesn't wash her hair!'. LOL

Why does "There's Something about Mary" keep popping into my head..:rolleyes1

LMAO...I can totally see my sons doing this when they were little! Wait, they did do this when they were little. Same thing, action figures, books, animals and Legos (can't leave home without them). That is so funny. I bet you will never let them leave home again without checking their suitcase.

And how old are they now? Do you dare share a picture?:rotfl2:

OK...I'll play.

I love early mornings. You can find me on the upper decks enjoying a cup of coffee and taking pictures of the ship and 'hopefully' an ocean sunrise.

I was mid-ship near the funnel taking photos when a DCL officer was about to pass by me. When I turned my head and said good morning...the 'fitted' baseball hat I was wearing backwarads...flew off my head...went straight up in the air...over the side...and 'taken by the sea'. Both the DCL officer and I were speechless...staring at each other - with a 'did you see what just happened' look on our faces.

This was my fitted - Arizona Diamondbacks - 2001 World Series hat...signed by Matt Williams.

I hate the thought of something ending up in the ocean that should not be there...but, there was nothing I could have done - it happened soooo fast. The rest of the cruise...my dd's kept jokeing that they saw a dolphin sporting my hat.

That's not funny! That made me sad! :sad1: That was your special hat and you lost it.

However, it is a good warning. I will not be wearing my discontinued, very favorite Life is good hat on any of the decks.

Ok....here was our hilarious funny of the trip!

Castaway Cay day.....DF (an experienced sailor) and I were at the rental place to rent an aquatrike for our DD's. There was this Dennis Connor/America's Cup looking dude in front of us to rent a Hobie-Cat. He had on lovely shorts with whales and sail boats, Sperry topsiders and a baby blue cable knit sweater. Totally looked the part.

After completing his transaction, he asked the girl to "hold his sweater." He then watched the two strappin' guys drag the Hobie-Cat to into the water (but did not offer to help). DF and I did our business and then walked over to the Head's Up bar for a delicious Konk Kooler.

We were enjoying our drinks and the scenery....and saw the only Hobie-Cat on the sailing lagoon flop over onto it's side......we got quite a chuckle that "Mr. Sailorman" tipped over needed a jet ski to right his boat.....No one was injured...and at least the sweater stayed dry!

And how old are they now? Do you dare share a picture?:rotfl2:

This happened just his past June..when the Magic went to Mexico..so the boys were barely 7...they will be 8 next week..and when we sail this Sept I will have locks on their suitcases once I pack them. :lmao: with their underware. :rotfl2: As for the photo..sorry, but DH and DS's would probably kill me :rotfl:

Ah yeah, something similar happened to DH and I... we were playing ping pong on the sports deck. DH remarked that it was awfully windy at the front, but I reassured him it would be fine with the plexiglass barrier...

Well, the ping pong match got heated, he sent me a fast ball, I sent it right back and somehow he hit it at a funny angle and the ball ballooned to the top of the barrier, bounced off the metal, hit a speaker, then a pole, then the side of the banister and it was swooped away by the wind current at light speed into the sea.

DH and I just stared with our mouths wide open as this happened really fast :scared1: . He finally put his ping pong pallet back down and walked away whistling :rolleyes1

I started getting the giggles, because really, that was a freak accident, I followed DH and he said: "I just hope no poor turtle decides to eat it and dies... oh no I really couldn't live with that!:scared:" Poor babe.

Ok try to picture this, Christmas 2007 Land and Sea. 4 day cruise to Nassau virgin cruisers. After checking out the ship we run down in a hurry to grab our life vest. As we rush from our cat 2 to the WDT DH is about 5 paces behind me declaring something feels funny. I yell NO TIME we are late for roll call lets go we will figure it out when we get there.:sad2:

We rush in find our group they start the drill as soon as our butts hit the seat. the whole time DH is squirming pulling at his life vest around his neck (which is on the thick side as it is) and keeps elbowing me claiming something is wrong with his Life vest. I abrubtly say "your fine and we going to miss something very important please stop talking"

Right about then an officer assisting our group walks over and says to DH "Sir you do realize that you have a child's life vest on?" :rotfl: The families behind us and in front burst into laughter. DH just looks at me and I let out a little OOPS:confused3 I made it up to my husband later:rolleyes1

You had the officer right there....you should have asked him to stop the ship! :lmao:

I understand, I'm just teasing. At your boys' age, is when I started to give my kids lists of what they needed to pack. They would bring it to me, and I had the right to veto, and then it would go in the suitcase.

You had the officer right there....you should have asked him to stop the ship! :lmao:

Reminds me of a scene in Hot Shots.

The captain's hat goes off flying overboard, so he says something like:

"Stop the boat! My hat went overboard!"

"But sir... we are on our way to a mission, we can't stop"

"But I can't do captain things without my hat, turn around!"

"Sir, we really can't sir"

"Well... send a guy on a life raft, give him enough food for a week and tell him to circle around the hat so we can pick it up on our way back"

:rotfl:

We had two funny things happen

We were on the 5 night double dip in Sep. 08. about the third day our DD2, accidentally locked herself in the bathroom. I am a pretty handy guy so I try to unlock the door with the safety button in the handle. After about 5 minutes of no luck, DW goes and gets Clifford, our steward. He has this handy tool that is supposed to pop the lock right open...No luck. about this time DD is getting pretty anxious about being locked in the bathroom. We are doing our best to keep her calm. Clifford calls for a couple engineers to come and help. They try for a few minutes and still can't get it unlocked. They go out of the room saying they may have to break the door down. DD sounds like she is now on the verge of tears. In a last desperate attempt, I tell her to reach up and turn the handle...She does and the door opens right up. DD runs into my arms and the whole group has a good relieved laugh. They cam later that day and replaced the handle.

The other funny thing, there on our at sea day there was a tropical storm coming in (ended up keeping up from our second CC day) as the sun was setting we could see the storm and the skyline was gorgeous with orange, reds, and purples. It was also very windy. I was taking some photos up on deck of the great sky, a family comes by and is looking out about 10 feet away. The mother is wearing a little black dress that is pretty loose. So the wind is constantly lifting the back of it up. I'm doing my best to ignore this as she is obviously aware and a bit embarrassed about flashing her thong, when her DD starts yelling out "Mommy, I saw your underwear" for all to hear. Her two DDs are laughing wildly, she looks mortified, I decided I had enough pictures of the sky, and walk away trying not to laugh. Not sure but I think her hubby got a pretty good kick out of it.

This thread brought back a memory that is probably more cute than funny. We were sailing one Fourth of July, and DCL, being DCL, was prepared for potential bad weather on the big day. There was a scheduled deck party, but just in case it got rained out, they had a ton of red, white, and blue ballons in netting over the atrium to drop as an alternative. Fortunately the weather cooperated, so they scheduled the balloon drop for some point later in the cruise. DH and I went to th atrium to see it, and it quickly become so crowded with people that you couldn't take a step without bumping one. It was not a place for the claustrophobic! They dropped the balloons, and I managed to catch one, but it has turned into a mad, frantic frenzy of balloon stomping. It sure sounded like fourth of July fireworks! In self preservation, I clutched my balloon to my belly and curled up into a defensive psoture till the insanity subsided. As soon as every balloon was broken, the people disappeaared as quickly as they had materialized. I realized that I was still holding my balloon...and there was one little boy still left there too. He asked, "Can I have it?" and I tossed it to him. His look was sheer bliss as he got the honor of breaking the very last balloon of the Great Fourth of July Balloon Drop Frenzy.
