Post Your Black Friday Shopping Results

We traveled down to Portland ME, leaving at 5:25.
Myself, a friend, a BIL.

Arrived at the Maine Mall 5:50. Best Buy was our first stop. The line out the door wrapped around the mall, down to the end of Sears. Sears had a very small line.
We hopped in the Best Buy line and after a few minutes (watching people coming out of the mall entrance) I said "hey, maybe the inside entrance to Best Buy has no line."
So we hopped out of line and walked into the mall entrance.
Line for KB was really long too, all the way down to inside Sears entrance. I got distracted and thought "Maybe KB has something I need?" so we hopped in that line. They were only letting in a few people at a time. My BIL ran for coffee and came back saying that Best Buy was open and no one was at the inside entrance. So we got out of KB line and headed to Best Buy.
We were in the store a few minutes after 6, they let in the outside line people, and the store was crazy crowded.
I got--GBA SP bundle pack (with two games) for 79.99
two GBA games Tarzan and Disney Skate for 14.99 (they were advertised at 9.99 each but one rang up at 4.99!)
three cd's at 6.99 each (Thriller, Tenacious D, and Good Charlotte)
Seinfeld DVD seasons 1 and 2 fo 39.99
GBA SP starter kit for 9.99
Check out at BEst Buy was nuts. It took me one hour and 45 minutes to get through the line. During that time my friend and BIL ran back to KB but came back and said it was nothing special. Once I finally made it to the check out, I realized why it took so freaking long! The clerks working check out were terribly slow. The guy who checked me out took a lot of time to look at my merchandise, almost like he was mentally making a shopping list of what he would like to get. UGH!
Done with Best Buy, finally at almost 8am, we went to the DIsney Store, nothing I wanted but my friend found a few items. Girls PJ Pals, two Princess barbies, a few other things. Check out again took forever. The line wasn't that long, it just took a while for them to check out each customer. She was in line for thirty minutes. During that time I ran down to Radio Shack (nothing), Bath and Body Works (nothing), and KB.
I wanted a GBA game that was on sale, Muppets, but the store was so disorganized and there was no one available to ask if it was still in stock. The line was winding through the aisles and I decided that I wasn't waiting in another long line like that.
We headed out to Target, no spaces available. Parked down in front of Old Navy and walked.
No shopping carts in the store, so I sent them ahead and waited for a cart. When a clerk brought in three carts, I let other people grab two of them before I grabbed the last.
Went looking for my friend and BIL.
In toy department I grabbed the last My Little Pony that was on sale for 4.99.
Grabbed last Ms. Pac-Man joystick game 12.00
Gift packs of balls on sale for $3, I grabbed two sets of playground balls, two sets of sports balls, and one pack of tennis balls. Total price $15
Juan Valdez coffee pods, $29.99 plus free coffee maker
curtis Cd player for 28.88
CD player for 39
Mulan for 12
Harry Potter, grabbed the last wide screen, for 15.99
Star Wars boxed set for 39.99
two ginger bread kits for 14
three long john sets for 4.88
two sleds for 5

I basically got everything I wanted for my kids, other than four books I ordered online from B and N. So I am happy to be basically done. Everything else will be done online.

Was able to get the television that I wanted for my kids at Sears 19" Sylvania Color for $68.00 and was able to get them both the Bratz Comforters and sheets they wanted total saved $135.00.

My toddler broke our cordless phone so I was thrilled to see the cordless phone w/ answering machine for $8.xx after rebate at Staples. I was there when they opened and got the phone and the laminator that was free after rebate.

I walked over to Radio Shack and got the CDR's that were free after rebate, the $20 DVD player for our bedroom (which is perfect because it's really small) and a few odds and ends for DH (laser level, keychain organizer).

I was very happy with my purchases, and even more pleased that I resisted the temptation to buy other things that we don't truly need just because they were a good deal :D

We were eating breakfast at the Waffle House by 9:00 a.m. and taking a nap by 10:30! :jumping4:

Well we did great. The dh even woke up at 4:15 am to drive me. I had ds 13 call like 8 stores the night before and only one said they had nintendo ds in stock and it was first come , first serve. Well at 5:05 am we were one of the first served. They are flying off the shelves here and not available , so I am so happy. I told him they were sold out etc. This was at Gamestop, also got need for speed 2 for ps2 with the 10 gift card. Then went to a sports store and got nike hooded sweatshirts for $15 each, stop # 3 Big Lots, then sports authority for a football, then bobs sportswear where I had a 30% off cpn. I hit all the clearance racks and got and1 t for like $4.99 and ecko and jnco etc. Amazing bargains there and then to the lee outlet, used $10 off on $100, All in all a great day.

I got in line at Famous Barr at 5am. $15 gift card to the first 300. I was probably about #200 in line!. They opened at 6. Then went to Bergner's for the 3 pc. luggage for $37. At Sears I got the GPX under counter CD player for $29. Our Sony one broke recently and the only way DH does the dishes is if he can listen to his books on CD. After I took that big stuff to the car, went back to Bergners and got a Flexees undergarment to go under my Christmas dress. Was 25% off and used the $10 in ad bonus coupon. Went to Kohl's and got some jammies for DD's to open Christmas eve. Spent $166 at Limited Too, but got $350 worth of stuff, plus a ton of Too Bucks. Also got the Kodak 5MP camera with dock at Walmart for $198. I spent quite a bit, but my shopping is almost done!

I was at Best Buy at 2 a.m., waiting for the $199 (after rebate) PC, the Kodak 4 MP digital camera for $149, and assorted games. When all was said and done, I just mailed out for over $600 in rebates, and I have 0% interest until January 2006, so I think it'll be paid by then. ;)

Happy to say, I walked away with the items I wanted, but it was HELL, and I've added Best Buy to my "never again" list for Black Friday (right next to WalMart)
