We traveled down to Portland ME, leaving at 5:25.
Myself, a friend, a BIL.
Arrived at the Maine Mall 5:50. Best Buy was our first stop. The line out the door wrapped around the mall, down to the end of Sears. Sears had a very small line.
We hopped in the Best Buy line and after a few minutes (watching people coming out of the mall entrance) I said "hey, maybe the inside entrance to Best Buy has no line."
So we hopped out of line and walked into the mall entrance.
Line for KB was really long too, all the way down to inside Sears entrance. I got distracted and thought "Maybe KB has something I need?" so we hopped in that line. They were only letting in a few people at a time. My BIL ran for coffee and came back saying that Best Buy was open and no one was at the inside entrance. So we got out of KB line and headed to Best Buy.
We were in the store a few minutes after 6, they let in the outside line people, and the store was crazy crowded.
I got--GBA SP bundle pack (with two games) for 79.99
two GBA games Tarzan and Disney Skate for 14.99 (they were advertised at 9.99 each but one rang up at 4.99!)
three cd's at 6.99 each (Thriller, Tenacious D, and Good Charlotte)
Seinfeld DVD seasons 1 and 2 fo 39.99
GBA SP starter kit for 9.99
Check out at BEst Buy was nuts. It took me one hour and 45 minutes to get through the line. During that time my friend and BIL ran back to KB but came back and said it was nothing special. Once I finally made it to the check out, I realized why it took so freaking long! The clerks working check out were terribly slow. The guy who checked me out took a lot of time to look at my merchandise, almost like he was mentally making a shopping list of what he would like to get. UGH!
Done with Best Buy, finally at almost 8am, we went to the DIsney Store, nothing I wanted but my friend found a few items. Girls PJ Pals, two Princess barbies, a few other things. Check out again took forever. The line wasn't that long, it just took a while for them to check out each customer. She was in line for thirty minutes. During that time I ran down to Radio Shack (nothing), Bath and Body Works (nothing), and KB.
I wanted a GBA game that was on sale, Muppets, but the store was so disorganized and there was no one available to ask if it was still in stock. The line was winding through the aisles and I decided that I wasn't waiting in another long line like that.
We headed out to Target, no spaces available. Parked down in front of Old Navy and walked.
No shopping carts in the store, so I sent them ahead and waited for a cart. When a clerk brought in three carts, I let other people grab two of them before I grabbed the last.
Went looking for my friend and BIL.
In toy department I grabbed the last My Little Pony that was on sale for 4.99.
Grabbed last Ms. Pac-Man joystick game 12.00
Gift packs of balls on sale for $3, I grabbed two sets of playground balls, two sets of sports balls, and one pack of tennis balls. Total price $15
Juan Valdez coffee pods, $29.99 plus free coffee maker
curtis Cd player for 28.88
CD player for 39
Mulan for 12
Harry Potter, grabbed the last wide screen, for 15.99
Star Wars boxed set for 39.99
two ginger bread kits for 14
three long john sets for 4.88
two sleds for 5
I basically got everything I wanted for my kids, other than four books I ordered online from B and N. So I am happy to be basically done. Everything else will be done online.
