Hmmm, I don't think I put anything down for the finish time. :confused3

Sean & I got our race packets. John registered through Anthony Travel so he won't receive his until sometime in December.

We're doing the Half
Karen(me) - #31017
Sean(DS) - #31018

My race packet finally arrived yesterday.

My nuimber for the full is 10270.

Sure hope this puts me in the same corral as Cam!!!!

I think I got everyone up to here.

Rhonda -- :woohoo: I am so glad you finally got your number. I guess hundreds of people must have put down the same finish time that you and I did and that is why our numbers aren't closer together. Even if I am assigned to an earlier corral, I can move back to be in yours. Or, I can go my slowpoke pace and you can go your zippy pace and be caught up with me in the first 100 yards or so. :rotfl:

Hey Cam! I am at work so I am not sure, but I think Rhonda's bib number puts her in the red start and you are in the blue start (based on how it was done last year). The blue and red courses merge a little past the 3 mile mark. I'm not sure what would work best for you two to walk/run together. Another possibility might be for Rhonda to drop to the 12000+ corral, which is right behind yours, and just make sure she is there early enough to be at the front of the corral. Maybe someone who did the full last year would have a better suggestion.....

Thanks, Pat! I had no clue! I totally forgot there were two starts. Yeah, Rhonda and I will definitely have to figure this one out so we can do this together. Thanks for clueing me in!

Cam

Or you and Rhonda can meet in the EPCOT staging area, walk together to the corrals and when no one is looking slip over the plastic fencing into the same corral. When I do stuff like this, which is fairly common, Martha's comment to me always is, "honest officer, I've never seen that man before in my life." When we ran the half together in 2005 we were assigned to different corrals but we started in mine. You now know how that happened.

When we were in Paris in March, headed to Versailles, we used our metro tickets and I realized we were on the wrong side of the track, headed away from our destination. We went back up, and being unwilling to buy 2 more tickets I told her to "jump the turnstile." This got the desired response from Martha, who looked at me like I had 3 heads. Of course I talked her into it, which is still makes us smile. In the words of Mame Dennis Burnside (Auntie Mame) "you have to live, live, live."

And thanks for the kind words. Martha's interview didn't turn into a job offer, but they have a need, they seemed to like Martha, and if a line is approved hopefully they'll remember her. Lesley had a second round on site interview at EMC Corporation for a job in their finance organization. If that turns into an offer she'll become a worthless college senior, only needing 3 classes in the spring to graduate and with job signed and sealed.

Mel

I'm ready and willing to talk if you'd like information about doing the adjunct faculty thing. This week is the last one before the Thanksgiving break and it's pretty crazy. I've been off campus doing exec ed yesterday, today, and Thursday, in addition to the usual campus duties. I'm very much looking forward to the week of break so I can catch up and be ready for the home stretch.

The best part of the job is the people I work with. My faculty colleagues are universally interesting and enjoyable, and the students are almost universally bright, funny, and rewarding to work with. If you take this step you'll hopefully have the same experience. Ask away about other stuff.

MelR - you are the man. Way to go. Goofy to lame for you, eh?

Take care all

Craig

Craig -- You corrupter of innocent women, you! ;) :rotfl: I LOVE that Martha gave you that look and then went along with it. Very cute! :goodvibes: I will keep my fingers crossed for Martha and Lesley on the job opportunities. Thanks for the clue on how to get in the same corral. I have to tell you, though, there was actually an altercation in my corral last year when a guy tried to get in ours with his family and the "gatekeeper" told him he couldn't and threatened to have race officials take his bib. UGLY! We will definitely find a solution, though! pixiedust:

I was allowed to move "back" to join NYcpa and was told moving back was allowed but not moving forward. It worked out great as i had been overly optimistic on my pace.

Number is 12767 and estimated about 7 hours to finish. Anyone else starting at the back and going just fast enough to finish in time?

Yep, got to agree that last year at the half in WDW they were very strict on getting people in the correct corral - at least as far as not allowing someone to move up! I thought DL was much more casual about it, didn't see anybody really checking.....Cam I am sure you and Rhonda can work something out.

The half corrals are blocked off with metal parade style barriers, so you need to go through the gates. The full corrals are plastic fencing, about waist high, easy to step over. Perhaps that's the difference.

When I walk from POFQ I just step over the fencing into my correct corral.

Unless they change the barriers, you should be able to do it.

Good luck

Craig

Hurray!! and Boo-Hooo!!!!!

Yes, I got my race number/waiver form, but the booklet was gone!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will survive referencing the online version, I guess.

Half-marathon: 34,391
Full Marathon: 13,307

FYI - My numbers do not seem to correspond to my estimated finishing times.

Best to all,

Teri

:dancer:FINALLY!!!:dancer:
#33112 and DH is #33113

I just got mine in the mail today. I was starting to just get comfortable with the fact that I just wasn't gonna get one!!

Ok, If I am reading this thing right my race # is 8796. And to be honest with you that scares the mess outta me. Since I didn't have proof of any other races I had to put down a 5 hour finish, which is pretty close to accurate. I didn't think my race number would bo so low though. On top of that I REALLY wanna be in the blue start because it runs through the world showcase while it's still dark out.

Dana-- If the corrals are the same as last year, you will be on the blue start. I was 8271 last year and that was Corral C, which used the blue start and got to run from the UK to Germany during mile 3.

Hope that helps!

Ours were 89** last year and we were in blue.

We put down 5 hr this year and we're in the 6000's. I hope we're not in red this year. :(

Thank you very much that helps alot!! Actually, the reason I was so worried is that I had seen all of these people with race numbers in the 30,000's and saw that mine was only in 8,000's. It didn't hit me until later that those were for the half!! I am getting so excited!!!

Dana
