Jiminy Cricket! I wasn't in this much pain after my back surgery 6 weeks ago!
This morning I had "simple" outpatient surgery to remove a lipoma (a fatty tumor) from my left side. They didn't put me under or anything, and from the time I checked in at the front desk until the time I was walking back to my car was exactly 42 minutes. The doctor was quick, efficient, pleasant and highly recommended.
But holy hand grenades...when the lidocaine wore off about 2 hours ago, WHOOOOOOO doggie! It feels like my left side is on fire! I don't think it's from the incision itself, but rather from him digging around inside with his finger to coax the large mass out (which he did without having to cut it at all with a scalpel). It felt like he was digging for dinosaur bones or something and now I am paying the price!
The nurse said not to ice it, and I just took 3 advil. Hoping it helps, but I have plenty of oxycodone left over from my back surgery, since that didn't hurt nearly as much.
Ugh! How long do you think the soreness will last?
