Post pics of your bag you carry into park

I'm not sure if anyone else is an SLDR but even if you are not this is an awesome bag! It's a Lowepro Passport Sling bag, I bought mine from Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Lowepro-Passport-Sling-Camera-Black/dp/B0039NLS4C/ref=lh_ni_t_

Here are some pictures on how my stuff fits. Most of the pictures are with the expandable compartment closed.

This is the bag on me. You can adjust the bag to sit where ever you like. I am about 5'3" with a broad torso and I still had about 6" of strap I could have let out.

This is the expandable compartment open. You can see it has a zipper which you can close when you do not need the added space.

This is the bag without the camera case inside and with the compartment open. There is quite a bit of space in there.

This is everything I fit into the bag with the camera padding inside and the expanding compartment closed. I still had some room left over although not too much. My Rebel, two memory cards, autograph book, pen, wipes, wallet, and my little bag. The little bag contains all my small things like meds, band aids, shout wipes, and a few extra things. I will throw in ponchos and then that is usually everything I will take to the park. The bag also has two small inside pockets for cell phone (my iphone 4 fits) and the other could fit a small flip phone.

This is everything inside the bag. You can sort of see the two small side flaps. As you can see everything fits comfortably and is easily accessible.

This is the bag open with everything inside. It has two zippers and three outside pockets. The pockets are nice for park maps or small things my daughter picks up that doesn't really matter if they fall out. I don't think the pockets hang open like it says in some of the reviews on Amazon, although there isn't anything keeping things inside of them. The front pocket is very large for a water bottle although I don't really use it. It's a nice place to hold my cell phone while I take a quick picture or need both hands quickly.

Sorry there are so many pictures and it's so long. I think it's a great bag and a great price for a camera bag. It's not great if you plan on taking a lot of lenses but you could fit a flash in the camera compartment maybe another flash if you were clever about it. It's also plain black so although it's sort of feminine a male could wear it without looking too feminine.

DH and I spent waaayy to much time looking for "the perfect bag" for our trip last summer. We both wanted something either of us could use, be water repellent, and light weight. We ended up with the Stowaway Pack Backpack from LLBean. It was PERFECT. Lightweight, the straps are padded put have holes in them so they are breathable, it poured two or three times and everything stayed dry inside. I actually convinced my parents to buy one for their next trip (they've been using the same purple backpack for 10 years now). Here's the link to it (I'm hoping it works!) http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/63707?feat=816-CL1 I'm glad I didn't get a "girly" one DH ended up carrying it most of the time. :rolleyes1

Very similar to this one. Bought it at Wal-Mart. It has a holder for 2 water bottles (1 for me, 1 for DH), and you wear it on your hip. It is made for hiking.

If anybody is looking for a new Baggallini messenger the black ones are on sale on Baggallini's amazon site for 24.95! :woohoo:

This bag looks absolutely awesome! After seeing your pics I am completely sold and will order it asap! I especially like how it has just enough room but not too much!:woohoo: Thanks!

Yay! I really hope you like it, it's such a great bag. I like the space in the bag especially since it can be expanded so if for some reason the room is needed it's there! It's easy to get things in and out and I am in love with the bag :rotfl:

Does this one zip up under the flap? I love the looks of it, just like to have them zip, not the pull strings.

So I just got the bag and unfortunately it's just a pull string :sad2: I really would have liked it to be a zipper but the pull strings are fine by me! Its also pretty good sized! Much bigger than I expected it to be. Hopefully you find a bag you like :goodvibes

Reading through this thread, I was trying to decide what bag would work best for me and I decided on the Vera Bradley Mini Hipster (I  VB!). I was even able to get the print I wanted, Sittin' in a Tree, at 25% off!

My first solo parks trip is in 2 days so I have my bag already and was testing it for comfort, weight, etc. I was pretty impressed with what I was able to fit in there: chapstick, flip camcorder, camera, 2 extra AA batteries, cell phone, small totes umbrella, pen, small pad of paper, cash, credit cards, nail file, and hand lotion! It isn't overly bulky and is a weight I can deal with all day.

I'm so used to having a stroller with me when going to the parks, so I can just load it down with whatever I want-but this time I AM SOLO!!!

Depending on the weather I will swap out the umbrella for sunscreen-although the weather for my week is still calling for rain everyday. :sad2: We will see what happens!

Oh, man! I thought I figured out the bag I want to take... and then I saw this one!

I have a Vera Bradley hipster and thought I wanted something smaller to take on my next WDW trip. So I bought the VB Rachel. I do have an DSLR camera, but figured I'd just take my little point & shoot.

Now I'm debating on whether I should take the DSLR... and if so, this would be the perfect bag!!!

Thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll keep looking. I really like to have things zipped up so if we are on rides that go upside down, etc. things def. won't fall out. Thanks again for the update.:thumbsup2

Wow, I'm loving that bag!! I have the Baggallini Messenger, but I don't know that I'd take it again to the park. I love how that bag of yours is wide, but more shallow, so you have easy access to your items. That might be one I'd get for all of my travel needs!

I actually read every. singe. post. (yes, all 100+ pages!) of this thread, and I must say all of you are tempting me to go buy a new bag!

I've only traveled to DLR but will be traveling to WDW next January. I usually wear a Dakine backpack, but it is a bit on the bigger side so when there's not much in it, the backpack gets kind of flimsy. I'm going to try a much smaller bag this time around when I go to DLR.

I don't pack too much, usually just my dSLR, a refillable water bottle, my wallet, a jacket and possibly a pair of light pants for in the evening. DBF always carries a larger-ish backpack, I don't know why because he tends to pack a lot lighter than me, but I guess he could carry my pants and jacket if I asked him nicely. :)

And as much as I'd love to go out and buy a bag, I have a couple of options here at my home already.

The first is a Timbuk2 Mini Metro bag in black and the other is a Coach bag. Both can be adjusted to either be shoulder bag or the straps can be adjusted to be longer and go cross body. I've already "tested" both out and put all my park gear into them and have tried to get a feel. The Coach bag is a lot more bigger than the Timbuk2 Mini Metro, and I'm kind of worried if it'll sit comfortably on my side if I'm riding on rides.

Has anyone used a Timbuk2 bag before? Also, if anyone would like to see pictures, I'd be more than happy to post.

I LOVE this bag. Now to convince DH that we need to spend $50+ on ti when I have purchase a "park" bag for the last 3 trips. lol

Thanks for showing this! We've been looking for a good back that can hold our DSLR but can also act as a regular bag and I think this is perfect! I didn't think it was that great when I saw the pics on Amazon but your pics really help. Thanks so much! :thumbsup2

I've used a Timbuk2 bag before. I can't find the one you are talking about ("Mini Metro"). Could you have meant "Mini Messenger"? I think that's the one I have. I wore it cross-body. It's a nice size, fit my mid-size camera + camcorder + sunglasses + lots of other stuff. It's not roomy enough to put clothing in, IMO. It sat comfortably on my hip, no problem with that. My only concern with this bag is that it doesn't zip shut on top, but the flap cinches down pretty well, so I think you wouldn't lose anything. I thought this bag might be water resistant, but it wasn't.

I don't take my Timbuk2 to Disney, in fact I don't use it much these days (not sure why, it's a nice bag!). For Disney, I prefer a Vera Bradley bag just because it's lighter weight, the straps are softer/more comfortable, and I want that top zipper.

I don't think I'd take a Coach bag to the parks if you might get caught in the rain or if you would ride water rides. It's too nice!

Trying to decide which bag to purchase to carry in the parks, and was hoping people could post pictures of them wearing their bags or just simply a picture of their bag if they have it. Also, don't forget to include the name of the bag and the color you chose. Also, the price if you remember how much you paid. TIA! Can't wait to see everyone's fav bags!:yay:

I use the Lowepro fastpack 250. It allows me to bring my camera AND laptop on the plane. I leave the laptop in the room ( no need for the extra weight at the parks ) and carry papers and park maps in the laptop compartment in the parks. It's got a nifty side panel to easily get the camera out when I need it.

I've been carrying small Vera Bradley bags to the parks since 2009, but this year we're thinking about bringing our video camera, I'm going to give this one a try. I love all the little pockets that you can throw all your little essentials in (sunscreen, handbacs, wipes, gloss, etc.) and it looks spacious enough to carry cameras and such..

Yes! Indeed, it is a Mini Messenger, for some reason I googled "Mini Metro," and images that came up looked like my bag. My apologies.

I don't mind not having the ziptop, since I don't have many little essentials that I might lose, plus there is the inside compartment that does zip up should I feel like I need more security. But thanks for your input! :)

I think Coach is just as cheap as Dooney and Bourke, and I wouldn't mind also carrying those around in the rain and whatnot. But like I mentioned, the Coach bag I have is a bit bigger than my Timbuk2, which would probably lead to me trying to fill any empty space I might have with random bits of things I might not need. lol

I really like the VB bags that have been mentioned; I just feel like I need to make use of what I have before I go out shopping to buy another one!
