Post pics of your bag you carry into park

Today in the mail I got a Hallmark catalogue with a 30% off one item coupon and inside they show that they carry the Baggalini bags.

I ordered Overland PLacer bag yesterday but I think I really must go take a look at the Baggalini's anyway. JUst to see if I like it.;)

Does anyone know - can the Travelon Slim Line Messanger Bag be worn on the left side? In the picture it looks like it only hangs on the right side. I'm torn between that one, the regular Travelon Messanger Bag & the Heys Travelmate. I like that the Travelmate has the water bottle pocket but I just can't decide....... Anyone have a preference & why???!!!
Thanks!

It looks like only a right-handed bag. The Travelmate is cute! :lovestruc

I ordered the eBags Piazza last week when it was on sale for only $9.99. Unfortunately, the price is back up to $39.99 now. I put all of my "park stuff" in the bag, and I think I'm going to love it. I actually like the layout of it well enough to carry it every day, and plan on doing so. It's a really good size, holds more than it looks like, and has a super long strap that can be worn cross-body if desired.

Oh, and for comparison, my "park stuff" consists of:
Sony A350 DSLR camera, with 28-300mm lens
Disposable poncho
Sunglasses
Small wallet, containing tickets, drivers license, credit card, and cash
Tylenol & migraine meds in a tiny pill container
Pads/tampons
Water bottle (in the side water bottle pocket)
Cell phone (in the side cell phone/mp3 pocket)
Chapstick
Hand sanitizer
Eye drops for contacts
Bandaids
Kleenex
Small comb

Let's see if this picture attaches right. :confused3 There are lots of pictures of it on the Ebags website though.

I am thinking about this one. I wish it were not leather though!

http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/bxtbg_ontv.html

Travelon makes this identical bag in several fabrics. I have a black leather one, a tan suede one and a black microfiber one. Love them! They have held up very well to all the abuse I have given them. I have been using the leather one for several months and I used the microfiber for almost a year and a half and they are still in perfect condition. The only one I have any issues with is the suede one getting very dirty and being hard to clean (but it is light colored and suede is usually hard to maintain) I bought them from two different sources- QVC and the Samsonite Company Store at our local outlet mall. They are the only purses I carry now.

Hands down the Ameribag Healthy Back bag is the best bag I have ever owned. I bought one just for our last trip to DW, and ended up using it as my every day bag. I'm onto my second one now. It's even been handy as a quick-trip diaper bag since we had a baby. It's so organized, and positions just right so I haven't gotten tired of carrying it. You can find them on ebags.com.

I'll admit that I spent nearly a week reading through this thread, post by post. I've been addicted. I've had dozens of tabs open to ebags, Very Bradley, REI, and Amazon. It hasn't been pretty.

When I first saw the VB Hipster, I knew I had to have it... in multiple patterns. I love it. I even tracked down the nearest store that sells VB bags (turns out it's across the street from my normal bus stop on my way home from work - dangerous!) and went and checked it out for myself. The Hipster is perfect and I love it, but I balked at the $56 price tag. I am a recently graduated graduate student and the idea of paying $56 for anything made out of quilted cotton is a bit much for me right now. :lmao: However, somehow paying $32 for the All In One Wristlet in Java Blue was ok. Don't ask me. But, I do love it and it does make my life a lot easier, in that it's going to be much harder for me to go to work without my keys to get into the building!

Well, it's also REI's winter sale right now, and since we live in Seattle, we pretty much consider REI to be second only to the grocery store in importance. I had been wanting to check out the Overland Equipment Donner bag that a lot of people in this thread have liked. Checked it out, but didn't love it. It was on sale at REI for $39, but it felt flimsy and cheap. I was happier with the Overland Equipment Auburn bag and almost bought it, until I realized that the main part of the bag fastened only with a single magnet - I would end up losing my wallet (umbrella, book, water bottle, insert heavy but small enough to fall out item here) within the first week of owning it! However, in the same aisle, I did find the REI Annie shoulder bag for $44. It doesn't photograph well, but it is actually a kind of cute bag - not something that I'd carry around to go shopping, but it'll make a wonderful travel bag.

Things I like: Big enough to fit all the essentials - book or magazine for flights, poncho, camera, Purell, suncreen, sunglasses, etc. Outside zip-up organizational pocket for passes, cards, pens, phone, ipod. Water bottle pocket that zips up to hide it on the side. Back organizational pocket big enough for Passports, etc. when travelling in places that are not as safe as Disney. Pockets and dividers (including one zippered) inside for organization. Adjustable strap lets you wear it across your body, with enough room to ride low. No outside flap to mess around with.

And the best part: it's made from recycled plastic bottles, and so I can feel a bit better about shelling out more money to support my consumerist lifestyle! :rotfl:

The part I don't like: Not nearly as cute as some of the other bags out there and it only comes in two colors - green and blue. I chose the blue bag, but would have preferred a raspberry, orange, or a neutral like brown or black. Oh well.

I figure it can also be used for days when I bike to work (when it stops raining here in Seattle in, oh, July), so that's nice.

Anyway, thought I'd add a new bag to the mix. It's not the prettiest, but the organizational features are some of the best I've seen, no magnets to mess with your cards, and it feels sturdy and well-made, like all REI branded stuff I've bought in the past.

Happy bag shopping, all!

I picked mine up on eBags for $37.50. If you are a uPromise member (free to sign up) you get free shipping at $35 dollars.

I use my upromise $$$ to pay on my student loans. Maybe when I finish with that I will work towards DD's college savings.

I never thought of using UPromise $ for paying on student loans. This is a great idea. Thanks.

I looked at them on eBags, but none of the patterns I wanted were available and (and correct me if I'm wrong) they seemed to only be selling the old model of the hipster. I could only find the new model of the bag in the Puccini or Java Blue pattern directly from VB for $56. If I'm wrong, definitely let me know!

I'll have to look into uPromise. I doubt I'll be eligible, as my student loans are all Government of Canada loans (Canadian citizen currently living in the US), but it sounds interesting! Thanks for the tip!

I think you are right, the Kensington must have been made in both old and new models.

If you have a child or someone else who is going to school you can give the credits to them. It doesn't cost anything. I got 6% back for my ebags purchase.

just bought this one tonight....

Ive been trying on bags and have tried everything form $5 at WalMart to a $55 Baggalini. I stumbled on this at Lands End and loved it before I realized it was a diaper bag.
It has 2 outer pockets for bottles, a decent size main compartment (camera, etc), a front zip wallet area with a bungee key fob (great for ID's, etc), and a back pocket for maps or whatever.
The strap is long enough to wear as a sling or it could be a shoulder bag. And it's a simple black bag so DH can carry it too.
And I plan to attach my trading pins to either the strap or the bag itself.

Love that Land's End bag! I think I might have to order it for my next trip.:) Please give us a review after you use it.:)
It wasn't bad. My only complaint with the bag was the strap started to rub & irritate my neck after a while. Otherwise, everything I needed (and more) fit comfortably.
I'd use it again, but I'm always looking for something better ;)

I have a Coach sling. It has a long strap and I wear it across my body. I couldnt live without it. Room for all the essentials. I saw a similar style at Kohls for about $20.

I have that bag from when my youngest was a baby! I used it on our January Disney trip plan to use it again in March. It's a great bag!

hi there, i saw that one person on here mentioned this bag, and i am wondering if anyone can give me any info on it...what i am wondering is whether the main compartment would hold my larger camera (sony h50) and whether the magnet on the front actually stays closed ( i have read a few reviews where people complain about this)...if any has anything to tell me, good or bad, i would love it...thanks

Can anyone tell me if any of the bags you have are waterproof? Concerned about camera and water rides. The idea of pulling the camera case in and out of a ziploc does not appeal to me. Would love to hear which ones are waterproof? THank you!

Last September I wore my VB Hipster and just loved it! It was more than big enough for what we needed to carry and was soft enough to be comfortable. DH got me another one in red and a mini hipster for Christmas, so I'll be bringing them too in January. :lovestruc We like to travel light so we don't always bring a bag (woo pockets!!), but the Hipster was so comfy I was happy carrying it.

Another note for any diabetics in the crowd... yesterday we got a mini pelican case from REI. It's a hard plastic case that is water and break resistant. It fits DH's omnipod PDM perfectly! I would highly recommend it. Now I'm not nervous about us dropping and breaking it. The case will also be great for Kali Rapids and when it rains.
