If any of you have been following the Feb., March, or April car rental rate threads you know that Dollar has been drastically dropping their rates for a short period of time during certain days, and then they jump right back up again. Maybe we can use this thread to post if we see one of these drops? And then if you subscribe to this thread, you can even choose to get instant email notification.

I got a GREAT deal last week (on Wednesday?) and I realized today that I need to upgrade to a larger vehicle! So, I guess I am looking for rates again. Blah.

I'm so glad I saw this thread! I usually wait until closer to our trip to start checking Dollar because often at 3 weeks out I find their prices at the cheapest.
Because of this thread I went and checked Dollar for our May trip and snagged a rate of $60.75 ...$102.27 with all taxes/fees for Sunday, May 4th thru Friday May 9th. This is for an intermediate.

Last week, on Wednesday afternoon, I found the cheapest rate for the mid-size...looking for the van now. My trip is April 26-May 3rd.

March 7-14. Have a compact through Thrifty for $236, really want to go lower. The AAA code did me no good, doing the best with a city special. Waiting on a better deal with Dollar.

Just checked my dollar reservation for 9 days and rates have dropped by 1/2 and I went from a standard to fullsize. My reservation is out of Tampa starting early this Saturday and used the AAA.
1 week @ $124. extra days @ $17.59 each.

200 more dollars to spend on shopping!

Just booked with Dollar full size for Feb 19-Feb 25, pick up and drop off @ MCO for $111.61. Best price I've found for my dates, would have preferred Alamo, but they are 3 x's the price I got at Dollar. Hope this helps someone...

If you look at the first post you'll see that we started this thread because Dollar will drop the rates drastically for short periods of time, we want people to post when they see it happen so we can take advantage of it (so subscribe). Unfortunately, the rates will then quickly jump right back up again.

At 2:30 am est the Dollar rates are low. Just booked a full size all in for $111 and also reserved an SUV for $155 all in. Will decide later one I want for our March 3-8 trip.

Hope someone else is up in the middle of the night to snag this.

Dollar rates down for me right now! Trip is 2-25 to 3-5 . Booked a compact for $120 all taxes fees included this was a drop for me by $140 was at $260 originally. This was the city special .

Are you putting the AAA code in the Corporate box? It goes there, not the Promo Code box.

I've not given up yet that I can get something good for next weekend, but the odds are getting slimmer. No movement on dollar for my dates today.

Just booked a mid size 3/28 to 4/6 for $142 including all tax and fees with aaa. City special was $149. This is down about $260 from the costco rate I had. Thanks!!!!!

Thank you for posting! I didn't think I could get a rental car price down so low! I got a full size for $135, 1 week + 1 day, so happy!!!
