POST HERE: Did you get Free Dining with your Disney Visa today?

Yep. We did a single room only on the 13th. We'll just do DTD that day and hit the parks Sun. morning when the dining kicks in!

I called this morning and saved $119.16.
We were paying 1614.94 with MYW Fall Discount
Now the total is 1495.78 :thumbsup2
POR 10/6-10/9 2 adults 2 children free dining :yay:
Only 17 days and I'm there

I am going 10/8-10/13. They told my AAA lady that since my dates go past 10/11, I do not qualify.

I don't think that this is correct. Your dates should be fine - now the resort you are in may not be available. But my TA was able to apply the FD code to our ressie and we are staying 10/11 - 10/18. So, we got free dining for the whole time, but (based on my calculations) I think we only got a room discount for the one day. It only saved us about $50 off what we got with the fall code, but a discount is a discount, right! More souvies for the kids ...

I'd get the AAA agent to call back and ask again.

OMG! I KNOW I have to stay away from you people!

I had planned to not go back to WDW for a long time. My DH and I went in August. I had tossed the idea around with my mom to go in December. I am dying to go near Christmas, but DH is a teacher. My mom has never been and I am dying to take her.

So I sent in a thingy with DU for a quote...DH is going to yell at me for DISing! lol

Here is where I think your numbers are coming from. First, you can not "stack" the discounts so you would not be saving an ADDITIONAL $960 for the DP on top of the Fall discount. You gave up that room discount to get the FD. So now you are saving $959.60 (based on 2A2C I assumed from your numbers) on the DP. You are also paying VALUE season rates even after regular season begins on 10/2. There is a $17/night difference between regular and value season prices. So 17 x 9 nts x 1.125 (the 12.5% tax rate) = 172.13 room discount. $959.60 + $172.13 = $1131.73 less $10 change fee charged for pkg changes made after 2 weeks prior to arrival date...$1121.73 total savings. This is off only .67 from your numbers and could be due to the fact that, I think at least, there is a slightly differently tax rate at POP since it is in a different county. Anyway, we are going around the same time and our pkg priced out to the penny by using value season rates during our entire stay along with the FD.

And the $53/night is probably a per person pkg rate based on 2A, 1J, 1C which is usually how they price the examples for their pkgs. It does not mean that the actual room rate you are paying is a flat $53/night.

Thanks, thats what I thought but just wanted to see if anyone else had been told that it was $53 per night. I thought that was to good to be true even with some disney magic poured on. But I still saved almost enough to pay for the plane tickets, so I'm not complaining!!:cool1:
