POST HERE: Did you get Free Dining with your Disney Visa today?

Thanks Disneyin2008!

Also, I think I figured out the room discunt mystery. (some ppl say there is, some say there isn't)

I ran my numbers through the Disney system without the dining add-on / rack rate / room and it did price out about $19.00 higher than what I'm actually paying. So, what kind of discount on a room would $19 be? 20% OFF MY FIRST NIGHT ONLY! So, I wonder if it's not discounting the room after 11/22, but allowing the free dining.....hmmmm...

I just called for my reservation: 2 adults, 2 children, 5 nights, 5 MYW tickets, and dining with the fall discount code (at ASSp) came to 1600. If I applied the dining code my price actually went up!:scared1: So, no pixie dust for me.:sad1:

Original Price in April No Discounts - $3266.76
Price in August with the Fall Discount - $2720.96
Today With Disney Visa Rewards Discount - $2144.36
For A Total Savings (aka more sounvenir money) of $1122.40:worship:

But there is some mystery behind today's discount:

Called this morning at exactly 7 am disney time, stayed on hold about three minutes and got the latest and greatest, but not so sure about it being the greatest! We're staying 10/1 - 10/11 and the total @ POP with 10 day PH passes and free dining with travel insurance came to the total of $2144.36 and that is the part I'm not sure is right, when I spoke with Chase Rewards last night they told me the deal was free dining, and the room rate would be $53 per night, the first cast member I spoke to this morning told me the same, and the second and third cm's I spoke with today would tell me only that it was free ding with a room discount, when I asked for a breakdown they said they could not give it to me because it was a package deal, so I told her I had it figured as $1078 for tickets, $530 for room, and $134 for insurance, for a total of $1742 plus tax so she has a member of guest services check the rate, and tells me they have checked it twice and the $2144 is right! So I said if I am getting free dining on this package that should take off around $96/day, am I right? That should add up to around $960 off the price before and she agrees! But I never got that out of them, anyway free dining, not so sure about. I have read that today's discount is actually raising the price of some ressies, what's up with that? Still happy to get what I got just wandering what the real deal is and how they could calculate the total on the package but couldn't give me a breakdown?

I was wondering the same thing. I think you might be right since the room is charged per night.

I think value season does not include a discount

:sad1: No Free Dining for us...

Our dates are 12/13-12/19. Our TA was given a price of $2164 for 2A2C, but that was GIVING UP park tickets and the dining plan for the night of 12/13 (we arrive around 1pm that day).

Our prices, for those interested:
$2402, Fall discount, CSR waterview, basic ddp, 7 day hoppers for 12/13-12/19
or
$2164, 5 nights of free dining, 6 day hoppers (that don't begin until 12/14) and one night room only plus OOP meals (on the 13th).

We are going with the $2402, as we already have all of our ADRs for 6 nights of dining, plus the difference of $238 doesn't seem worth what we are giving up.

Here is where I think your numbers are coming from. First, you can not "stack" the discounts so you would not be saving an ADDITIONAL $960 for the DP on top of the Fall discount. You gave up that room discount to get the FD. So now you are saving $959.60 (based on 2A2C I assumed from your numbers) on the DP. You are also paying VALUE season rates even after regular season begins on 10/2. There is a $17/night difference between regular and value season prices. So 17 x 9 nts x 1.125 (the 12.5% tax rate) = 172.13 room discount. $959.60 + $172.13 = $1131.73 less $10 change fee charged for pkg changes made after 2 weeks prior to arrival date...$1121.73 total savings. This is off only .67 from your numbers and could be due to the fact that, I think at least, there is a slightly differently tax rate at POP since it is in a different county. Anyway, we are going around the same time and our pkg priced out to the penny by using value season rates during our entire stay along with the FD.

And the $53/night is probably a per person pkg rate based on 2A, 1J, 1C which is usually how they price the examples for their pkgs. It does not mean that the actual room rate you are paying is a flat $53/night.

Saved another $300 on top of the $400 I saved with a PIN code... total savings of $700! Woo Hoo!

I think value season does not include a discount

That's my final verdict as well. We had the ASMu for 6 nights beginning Sept 28 for 54/night. Total with tax was 366.12. All are for 2 adults. I priced the rack rate yesterday for the 6 nights and the total was $594.38 with tax. The rate for the first 4 nights was 82 and 99 for the last 2. Today I called to see the rate with the free dining code and it was 719.50.

719.50-156.76 (1 day pass each) = 559.74, a savings of 35.64 on the rack rate room. It seems like the last 2 days are the discounted ones or so is my guess. So for the actual 193.63 (difference in the room cost, we will just hold on to the 1 day passes, money in the bank!) I thought it was worth it for food for 6 days (32.27/day for the 2 of us to eat).

Then one of my daughters decided to fly in on Sun night (we will already be there arriving actually on the 26th.) To add her, an adult the difference was 144.69. If you subtract out her one day pass (-79.88) you get only 64.81 to add her for the room which s/b 67.80 with the tax. No clue on how they are actully doing this unless they are using an old ticket price or something.

I'm not complaining because for the total difference in cost of 353.38 we are getting 6 days of food plus 2 one day passes for the 2 of us, plus our daughter gets to come for almost nothing!

Just to let you know also, if you call for a resort and they tell you they don't have it CALL back later. This morning when I first called they said no ASMu only POP which I thought was odd. We already are staying at ASMu the 2 days before so I didn't make the reservation then. When I called back 2 hours later the ASMu was available!!

I know this all sounds confusing but that's what our experience was.

We are staying at the contemporary - GV, Standard room.

Price with Fall discount, deluxe dining plan and 1 day base tickets - 2602
Price wit Visa discount, deluxe dininng plan and 1 day base tickets - 2139

Total Savings - $462.

I'm happy.:goodvibes

We're staying at Pop:

With Fall discount (DGL), Dec. 13th - 20th: $2390
Room and 7-day hoppers for 2adults, 2 tweens, 2 children

With Visa offer(QXZ), Dec. 14th - 21: $2912
Room and 7-day hoppers and dining for 2 adults, 2 tweens, 2 children

So, my price went up $500, but I didn't have dining on the original reservation. Dining plan for the six of us for 7 days would've been $1204... so I'm saving $700... (or, getting to eat great food at fun places for $500, instead of trying to scrimp, which is what we've always done before!!)

We booked our original reservation using a PIN we received via email in early August. We booked the WL - Woods View, Standard room. for 12/15 through 12/20

I called today and the CR said she couldn't apply the Free Dining code to the Woods View room but she said that there were Courtyard view rooms available.

To make a long story short...

We were able to upgrade to a Courtyard View room and save $87 off our total package price by applying the Free Dining code instead of the PIN we previously used.

November 14th - 19th / 2 Adults / POR King / 1 Day Base Pass / Dining

Rack Rate $1,574.04
MYW Fall Pkg $1,202.84
Free Dining Pkg $1,081.64

I was happy to get the MYW Fall Pkg - I'm even happier w/ Free Dining - we saved an additional $121.20!

We also got Free Dining with our Disney Visa!!!:)

We saved over $300.00 from AP holder discount that was given in the fall. We are staying at CBR/Dec 14th-20th.

We were going Jan 1-7, not any more!! We are going Dec. 13-19!!! WITH FREE DINING!! We were staying at Pop but have to switch to Movies. The only thing making me nervous is the busing! Otherwise I got CRT this morning for lunch on the 15 and now we can go to MVMCP!!! I'm sooooo excited! I'm watching the Disney marathon on TV and hanging out on the DIS. It's a good dayl Oh yeah! We saved $500!!!!

Now, to figure out how to change my ticker!

I am going 10/8-10/13. They told my AAA lady that since my dates go past 10/11, I do not qualify.

I happy with what we got.

2 Adults
Pop Century Standard Room
Dec 14 - Dec 20
1 day base tickets (have left over tickets, but needed at least one day to get dining)
Free Dining

$709.50

I know that I could have gotten a better price with a room only, but the free dining was so enticing.

:thumbsup2

Free Dining starts on December 14th. Did you book room only on December 13th, with the package starting the next day? Just curious.

Well I'm jazzed!

Had no clue this was coming till I sneaked a peek at the disboards at work this morning. Waited till lunch break, then called on my cell. No hold time, thank goodness! Got a great friendly laid back CM.

Original package was $1768.64, no dining. ASMo 11/15-11/22.

I applied the fall code and got it down to $1373.14.

With free dining, it's up to $1634.24.

So...it's still a $134.40 savings over what I originally thought I'd have to pay WITHOUT dining.

Our TS meals alone were going to be $500 out of pocket, then we would be scrimping along with the CS. For $261.10 I'm getting all 7 days of dining!

Never had to change dates or hotels at all. :yay:

I had to split my reservation, but was able to take advantage of the new DV Code.

My old Ressie was for Checking in on 9/26, Checking out on 10/4. AS Music Family Suites with Dining and 8 day Base Ticket @ $3352

The new discounted Split ressie is 9/26-27 w/ dining and 8 day Base Ticket, and 9/28-10/4 w/ Dining and 1 day Base Ticket @ 2995.

Saving = $350 + extra 1 day base ticket - check out/check in hassel on the 28th.

Better late than never...
