Post election vent

Ok, its not been some time since the election and the results were in. So why do I still have to see tons of posters, signs and posts for the candidates? I hate seeing any fence and light pole with them prior to election time, and even more after. And if it was just one or two here and there it wouldn't be such an issue. But I'm talking about 5 side by side on a wall, and more up and down the street. It looks like legal graffiti. UGH! Who's responsible to take them down? How long are they gonna be up? I am just tired of seeing all that junk all over the city everyday. Does this bother anyone else?

Same here -- I was very impressed that the Deval Patrick posters were all taken down the day after the election but very upset that the Christy Mihos campaign didn't see fit to clean up their mess. Despicable.

The campaigns are responsible for removing their posters.

Some areas hand out fines if the posters/signs aren't removed.

One guy near us left his BIG yard sign for President Bush out for months after the election. I don't know if he was celebrating or in the hospital or what, but I wanted to stop the car and take it down.

Drives me batty, too. Of course, I don't like seeing them even before the elections!

I hate littering and very similarly it is as bad as people just throwing their cigarette butts out the car window. I worked outside for many years. Litter is 80-90% fast food wrappers and cigarrettes.

But the leftover posters are just as bad. And who pays the fines? compaign donations.
