Post Disney Response re: May Hours Here

I would be interested in seeing what kind of response Disney sends to those of us who wrote with concerns regarding May hours. Hopefully, our e-mails and calls will work well enough to, at the least, add a closing of 9pm here or there, some fireworks, or even another May E-ride night - DH and I would be very happy I e-mailed Disney only yesterday but I'll post my response as soon as it's received.

I had emailed them about the April hours and got an email that said they would call, but they haven't yet.
BUT......they have just updated the April hours.....changed some of the days back to what they were originally.
MK open til midnight Easter week!!!
So, they do listen!! So keep writing!

I am very disappointed that there appears to be no Spectro-Magic parade on Saturday May 17th/2003. The Spectro-Magic parade was the primary reason for me to stay at the CR (with my son) during the 2nd half of my stay at WDW.

We missed Spectro in March as it was only on Saturday March 8th and we were staying March 9-13

Please reconsider!

It looks like you are going first week of May also - DH and I are there May 2-10 and of course, the 10th is the only night that MK stays open until 9 pm Well, hopefully some good with come out of this.

Just sent my complaint about the lack of E-ride nights. Last year we made three trips to WDW (May, Aug/Sept & Nov) and didn't get an E-ride night the whole time! I'd really like to see one Memorial Day weekend, if we're not getting Spectro!

We had the same problem with no Fireworks or Spectro scheduled for the time we were on vacation last year. I also complained about them doing away with Early Entry. Be sure to include you phone number in your emails. I did and someone did call me. The Thursday before we left for vacation they added more hours and fireworks and we were able to see Spectro twice! I hope the same thing happens for you guys I know how upset you must all feel. Keep writting.... Good Luck

My mother sent Disney an email regarding the original changing of hours for the end of April and elimination of Spectro and FITS. It took about 3 weeks for them to call her. She said that the guy told her (in essence) that in order to not disappoint guests they post shorter hours and don't put these things on the schedule, but make the decision on a weekly or daily basis depending on attendance.

He told her that there is always a chance they will add these things back. He also told her that they usually put them in on Saturday nights. She pointed out to him that those Saturday's are Grad nights. He told her that wouldn't make a difference. He also told her that it was very likely Spectro and FITS would be scheduled for Saturdays in May. She was excited about what he told her. . . .

HOWEVER

I think that he was just blowing !!!!! I think that he was just telling her what she wanted to hear (and the official Disney line) and he really had no idea!!! Of course this was more obvious after the May Schedule came out!

If you get a call I suggest that you try to get beyond the canned Disney answer!

I have also sent my own e-mail and am waiting by the phone. . . .

I sent an email today. I realized there are no fireworks from April 24-May 10, that's 16 days. I'm going to be in Orlando 12 days and there is no Fantasy in the Sky or Spectromagic at all during my stay. I'm bumping this thread, hopfully others will email them to add some more events.

Hi all

Well, I sent my email on Saturday and got the "auto response" this afternoon.

We are going Apr 29 - May 7th. This will be our 3rd trip and have yet to see Spectro and only FIS once.

I said that I understood why the early closing of MK on Fri & Sat (May 2 & 3) because they are grad nights.

I also suggested that considering that the Studios were open til 9pm that why not alternate the late openings with the MK.

i.e. Studios open Thursday, Friday, Saturday til 9pm and the MK open til 7pm and then on Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday have the MK open til 9pm and the Studios open til 7pm and Wednesday could be a toss of the coin.

This way it will make most people happy with at least a couple late evenings at MK.

So.... we will see what happens.

By the way, glewis, I think you're on to something. . .I also understand closing MK early for grad night but for MK to close every night that we are there at 7pm is just unfair. I think switching the 9pm closing time b/w MK and MGM is more than fair

But while MGM is open to allow for Fantasmic - MK fans are going without being able to see Spectro/FIS

This is why alternating between MGM & MK is a win win for fans of both parks being able to see both shows.

I think so - but who knows what the "powers that be" think - lol
Can't imagine they didn't consider that - it's too simple an idea not to have come up in their discussions.

That is a good idea, but I bet it will not happen because they have 2 different groups of performers and crew. They would probably rather let one group go for an extended period than have both on part time schedules.
